I bought several of these Yolink temperature sensors and they all work fine and are very accurate. They work with or without the hub but they work much better with the hub. I unplugged the hub for awhile thinking I didn't need it but then i had sensor disconnecting randomly so I plugged the hub back in and all the problems disappeared. So yes, you need the hub to be happy with these. And the hub is cheap and tiotally plug and play so no worries. And they're so easy to set up even grandma can do it.

I've got lots of YoLink devices, including the water leak sensors, automatic water shut off, a temperature sensor for my pool, infrared remote controller, and more. The hardware and software is really good. Yes, you may think "why should I pay this much for a temperature sensor?" I learned the hard way. I wasted a lot of money on Govee ones with the worst battery life ever. Yes, I saved on the price up front but I have to replace the batteries every 2 or 3 months. And those ones aren't even connected to the internet! Instead, with YoLink, the batteries last for years and the devices are connected to the internet. If you want alerts for a specific temperature threshold you can do that easily, and no matter where in the world you are, as long as your phone has a signal, you'll get an alert. Great products and are priced fairly for what you get. In this picture you'll see the waterproof temp and humidity sensor. I have it hanging up in a spot outside my house, that doesn't get direct sun, or rain. The YoLink hub is necessary but you only need one of those for all your devices. That's the secret sauce and why the signal range is so good and the batteries last a long time, as they use "LoRa" protocol.

YoLink products are great. The range is far superior to anything else. Integrates with Alexa very easily--you can just ask her what the temperature is. I have several of these and none have failed...nor has any of their other products I've installed. Temperature seems accurate with other devices I've compared them with. Have to install their hub...which connects to the web via WiFi or Lan. Batteries last for quite a long time...some of my devices have been in use for over a year with plenty of battery life to go.

I have both indoor and outdoor sensors! Easy to set up and I have not had one problem with it. Great app easy to use and sends me notifications based on my settings. Highly recommend Youlink!!

I purchased this heat sensor for my generator enclosure. I have heard horror stories about people's (including my neighbor generator) generators over heating and stop working due to the cooling/exhaust fan stopping working. The enclosure just requires a single cooling/exhaust fan. I had two installed. They both do not run at the same time. One is for a backup. Using this sensor, it monitors the temperature in the enclosure. If it start over heating (user adjustable). I get notified a high temperature warning for my generator enclosure on my phone. At the same time, the second/backup fan is automatically turn on. So I do not need to do anything. Please note that go be notified and for any type of automation, the Yolink hub is required. The pros of Yolink and their devices. 1) Easy setup, using the app, scan the QR code on the device and it is added. You can change the name of the device if needed (highly recommend) 2) The great customer service. Regardless if it is a question, issue (have not had any so far) or even a suggestion, a REAL, living/breathing person will respond to you. 3) The large variety of devices and sensors they offer. 4) The ability of the devices and sensors to interact with each other via the hub and with Alexa and the devices linked to Alexa, again via the Yolink hub. As far as any Cons: I have not found any yet.

These are not “worthless” but they are of little worth and a terrible value. I bought a bunch of Yolink stuff a couple of years ago. The Hub works fine, the INDOOR camera, is acceptable. The switching out let has worked as well. These temp senders are a joke. The ones I have indoors work pretty well. Those outside are junk. The specs say they have a temp range of -22 to 130. They actually do pretty well in the summer but the cold side is WAY wonky. This morning it was 19f and these all red 8-9 degrees higher. Given that they are a couple of years old and near or at their end of battery life window, i decided to change those. Guess what? YOU CAN’T. The cases are sonic welded together. The amount of forc e required to get to the 2 aaa batteries causes so much stress on the unit it now reads 40 higher than ambient. And I was careful. This will also be the case with all the indoor units as well. Ohhh….and I am still waiting for the OUTDOOR cameras they have been promising for years. Buy someone else’s product.

Bought this Fall 2022. Able to track indoor and outdoor temps in our house with our cell phones at home, out working and shopping, and away on vacations. Keeping us informed about our home heating situation and telling us what the outdoor temp is without another outdoor thermometer. The best most affordable choice on the market for homeowners. The outdoor sensor should be placed in constant shade on a north side not close to any heat source like a window or vent or an uninsulated wall. The WIFI for reception for all devices is good. Our base unit is in a basement home office. A sensor is in a less heated basement near the water service. Another sensor is in our master bedroom. This gives us our outdoor, basement and upstairs conditions that together give us a full understanding of our indoor/outdoor freeze potential. On vacation last winter, we realized from this YoLink system that our thermostat set backs to reduce our house heating was not working as expected. We called our daughter who came over the house and corrected our thermostats to the settings we wanted. We probably saved the cost of this equipment by substantially reducing our heating energy that one time.

Bought 11 months ago, and has worked flawlessly up until now. Manual well written with troubleshooting guide. Tried everything and could not get it to work. Reached out via email to customer service. Within 15 minutes got return email asking for the unit id. Replied back about an hour later. 10 minutes after that, customer service explained they are shipping out a new unit today. No fuss. This is what customer service is all about and SO REFRESHING to deal with a company that cares and replies so quickly. They have a great variety of sensors a few I have bought. App layout very user friendly. Bravo!

Very accurate and easy to setup. For now, it's outside at mild temperatures 3 C and works great. Also reports humidity levels. I placed it at a spot of my house (west side) so it does not get direct sunlight and provides "real" temperature readings.

You need to purchase a hub for this piece. This keeps track of temperature and humidity in real time. We are farmers and this lets us know what the temperature was overnight in a graph. The thermometer sends data to the app every hour if the temperature doesn't change, or more often if there are bigger temperature fluctuations. When I get up in the morning I can tell if the temperature was below zero for 10 minutes or all night. You can set alarms to let you know about temperature changes or you can just check the app. The range is awesome. I have a tin roof on my house and this thermometer is at least 500 feet from my house.

I have a kitchen cabinet that is attached to an outside wall. This cabinet displayed some very cold temperatures and some frost on the interior during a recent cold snap (-38 DegC). I purchased this device to monitor temperature and humidity in that cabinet.I did some repairs to the local insulation and have not seen any frost but still interested in conditions in that area. Lots of winter left! The first device was reading way out on the humidity. Yolink customer service provided some steps to correct and after hearing the device was still off base, they sent me a replacement that arrived within two business days. The second device reads much closer on the humidity. I would recommend Yolink for anyone needing this type of device. Customer service is 5 star PLUS.GordK
