This banjo arrived at my home well packaged and undamaged. The construction is solid, the moveable bridge is seated perfectly beneath the strings, as the intonation is spot on. The only cheap feel to this are the strap clips. They are prone to pry apart, allowing the strap hooks to slip off. The included strap is something they shouldn’t have even bothered with. It’s junk. But as far as playability and resonance and sustain are concerned, this is a solid performer. It’s great for beginners. Learn to play on this, then spend more money next time on a higher quality one. ONE WORD OF WARNING: This instrument comes with no warranty. They will give you a two-year warranty if you post a review and then tag them on social media. For the price, I'll take my chances. I don't appreciate such gimmicks. Buy metal finger picks. The included ones are plastic, which is fine for the thumb pick, but not for the fingers. To bring out the brightness of the instrument, you need metal finger picks. A worthwhile purchase for its intended purpose. This banjo gets knocked by online reviewers, but I suppose like anything there can always be a bad one in the batch. Mine is a keeper.

Great instrument! Even though it’s advertised as a beginner banjo, it really is so much more. Plays and sounds beautifully! No complaints at all! I would definitely recommend it.

First off, let me start by letting you know that I created a video for you to see what comes with this purchase. I highly recommend checking that out! Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this kit. The Banjo itself is very well made and I really enjoy the fretboard. It's just nice to the hands and makes it easy to slide your fingers. I play guitar so I am still trying to get used to using this as a banjo is meant to be played! But I will tell you, it is not made cheap. It feels legit all the way around. This comes with all that you need to get started. The tuner is great and I've used it on all my instruments as it works all the way around. It's nice to have one on the side instead of using my phone all the time. I was confused at first why they included so many finger pics but now I know that it's because that is what's primarily used to play the banjo. Again, I play guitar so I don't use fingerpicks but these fit well and I've even been using them on my guitars as well. The kit comes with extra strings and a warranty. It also has a strap that comes with it and a gig bag. I would probably get a replacement gig bag and strap more down the road but it's great to have something for now. It took me a day or two to notice that my banjo did take small damage during the delivery. I will include the picture of it and reached out to the seller, to which they offered to replace it and take care of the whole thing for me. However, because I have really enjoyed the one I have, and don't want to wait for another but would rather keep this and keep playing, I haven't sent it back. All in all, I would highly recommend this Banjo for anyone trying to learn. I hope to upload another video with me actually reviewing it and playing what I've learned in the future. Heads up though, if you are coming from a guitar-playing background, this is pretty different from what you normally do on the guitar. But it is still a ton of fun and a must-have!

This is a pretty nice banjo well made looks nice the only problem is I can't play any instrument to save my life and YouTube videos suck so bad when your trying to learn it's not worth the time or effort but I do like what I got so there is that

Sounds great, everything there and after 2 weeks seems like quality for an entry level banjo. No tuning issues whatsoever

IT was a hit for a Christmas gift.

First I would say that I bought this banjo from Amazon Warehouse and it was labeled as having moderate cosmetic damage to top, back, or sides. The box was damaged and the back of the resonator had minor scuffing, which buffed out easily. Therefore a $50 discount was a great deal. However the deal's value drops when considering the craftsmanship of the banjo and the accessories. The banjo looks nice overall, but there were many issues with the craftsmanship of the banjo. First the frets were sharp enough to scratch my hand on the ends. Most of the rest of the issues with the fretboard related to the second fret. It was not set properly. It was higher than the others and slightly out of parallel. I also had to adjust the truss rod. While removing the resonator I discovered that one of the screws holding it on was stripped. The thumb screw on the tailpiece broke off as I was trying to adjust it. I have been able to fix these issues myself with my knowledge of instrument repair, but these repairs would not be so easy for an inexperienced beginner. The accessories are poor quality overall. The case is the exception. It is padded and decent for a soft case. The tuner works but my free phone app is much easier to use. The picks are child size but can be adjusted with hot water. I don't know if I would trust the wall bracket. I should not have tried to use the strap. It is so poorly made that it scratched the resonator when I tried to use it. Overall I would say that this banjo is a fair to good value for the money if you have the skills to work with it, however I would not recommend it to a beginner.

Estuve por años queriendo comprar un banjo, por fin me decidí y pedí el PBJ140, solo queda decir, que es hermoso, es muy sonoro y ahora solo falta aprender a usarlo. Actualizando. El instrumento viene bien ensamblado, solo hay que afinarlo y listo! Las púas son muy pequeñas y mis dedos nos son grandes. La correa no se ve comoda, no siquiera la instale. Realmente es un instrumento hermoso. Actualizacion20/05/2023. despues de dos semanas de uso empezaron los detalles. La bolsa de transporte se descosió, cosa que no me importa y podría arreglar sin problema. Pero tuve que quitar el resonador y me di cuenta que el cuerpo del instrumento se está despegando, eso no lo puedo arreglar en casa. Se empieza el proceso para reemplazar, me gustó mucho y quiero otro igual.

It holds its tuning well, and the included tuner does the job without any issues. The strings feel a bit stiff at first, but that’s something you get used to over time—or you can swap them out if needed. The carry bag is a nice extra, making it easy to store and transport. Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re just getting into the banjo. Well-made, sounds good, and has everything you need to get started.
