Impressive Re-usable Molding Putty (1.5 oz (42 g))

I'm brand new to resin molding. I bought this mold putty hoping it would be good for one-off molds for polyester resin, though I couldn't find anything online about using clay or polymer for molding resin. Answer: it works great. I heated the putty as per the instructions, and made a mold for a Zia symbol, which I filled with red ink tinted resin. I didn't use any oil or mold release because I wasn't sure if I could clean it off the putty afterward; I was worried that the thin arms would stick and wouldn't separate from the mold putty, but the putty stays a bit flexible at room temperature, so I was able to pull it gently away from the hardened resin and it came off clean. I let the Zia cure for a few more days, then I reheated the putty and re-molded it into an oval, pressed the Zia into it, then poured some more resin with amber coloring around it. It all worked just as I had hoped, and the only problem is my own amateurish artistic talents. :-) I'm looking forward to making lots more molds.Be aware that 1.5oz is not a lot of putty. It was just enough to mold this 4" x 3" x 1/4" emblem.

I wanted to like it. I really did but it just doesn't live up to it's claims. At least with polymer clay or resin. The first couple of times I tried to mold, it did ok. Around the 4th time I tried to make a mold it got extremely oily which ruined my resin. Well... ok, it'll be strictly used for polymer clay now. But the next time I tried to use it, it just crumbled. I tried and tried heating it and balling it trying to get it to stick together again but it wouldn't. Maybe it's just the small size that's poor quality since it doesn't come with special oil drops or special storage bag? I'm just really really disappointed in it at how little use I got out of it before it permanently disintegrated into rubbery crumbs and the money wasted. Regrettably, I will not recommend this product.

Easy to work with but not sure why the instructions tell you to microwave it only to wait for it to cool a bit to work with it. I tried remolding it by microwaving it a little less and that worked for me without burning my hands or risking me waiting too long on the cool down. Suitable for smaller molds than I expected.

After trying unsuccessfully to make a mold using 3 other products first, I finally found a winner. The product does a great job and is easy to work with. I did reheat it several times in my attempt to create the best replica possible, and it was very forgiving. Each time, it was like working with a fresh piece of composite. My search is over! I'll be using this in the future because it's proven itself to be invaluable to me in my work.

It works fine, I just wish I had been told I was getting a USED product, not new

It worked exactly as spelled out in the instructions. It's fast and easy. And I like that it's reusable so that I don't have to keep making the same design over and over. When I'm ready to make something new, I just microwave the putty and make a new mold.

Worked Very Well for intended use, to fix a chipped glass table edge with clear epoxy resin.

THIS IS NOT REUSABLE!! Works fine first time using It, you notice It begins to leak an oil. Then if you reheat to use as a diferent mold shape, the consistency changes and the putty crumbles, making It very difficult to use. Dosn't work the same.Aldo, the imagen is misleading. What you receive is not that block pictured, is more like the little round portion pictured in the package. Very dissapointed.
