Nice wires. Average value (quality/$)
I bought 250' of both the 12/2 and 12/4 wire for a new set of speakers and rewired my room for 7.1.4. The wires are great, stiff but not super stiff so they are easy to pull in walls/ceiling and to maneuver. If you decide to get pants for these wires get something with an opening of 9.5mm to 10mm and 4mm ID legs. Otherwise, while the wire will fit snugly you will have a heck of a time slipping the pants on. If you decide to sleeve them a 3/8 ID sleeve will work very well. As far as sound quality goes - its a wire and as long as there are no shorts and you are not running all 250' in one run sound quality will be the same for almost all wires. The wires are not crazy expensive but they are not exactly cheap. Most people will never need 12G and would be fine with 16G or smaller. So unless you are doing 50' runs or want a thicker wire for looks (and looks only as sound quality will be the same) save some money and get larger gauge (i.e. thinner) wire. I went with the 12G because I wanted a thicker more "expensive looking" wire. Vane? Yes. Do they look good? Oh yes....

High quality solid copper at a โcopper cladโ price
Great in-wall rated wire at an even better price! The outer jacket is harder plastic than you might expect, which makes it easier to pull.

works nicely as light bar wiring for the truck
thick enough that we get good distance from the source with no power drop. The stranded construction and sheathing material help if fit, snake, and slide its way through the engine bay. and with the sheathing already on it, there is some rub resistance without encasing it in an additional loom. and it's all copper at a pretty reasonable price.

High quality in wall rated speaker wire
Great speaker wire, actually labeled on the sheathing that it is CL2/3 for in-wall installation so if you ever have an issue your insurance can't blame this wire not being rated in-wall. My only complaint is the end of the wire upon receipt was labeled at 496 feet so it seems to be 4 feet short of 500, good thing I ordered more than I need for variance.

Is what it says
We had to tear out a bunch of drywall so I took the opportunity to install a bunch of wire for surround sound. I like this product - easy to handle and well-made. Would buy again.

Wired!
Just an update because I failed to do so at time of resolution. Thank you to the company for reaching out to me privately after my review. They took time to correspond about potential issues. They also remedied my issue. They did not have to, and I did not ask them too. They also did not ask for anything in return for the remedy. THANK YOU! It is one of the reasons I wait a LONG time to write reviews. I want real interaction, and I got it. As a result, I did upgrade my review from 3 stars to 5. I am also keeping this company in my contacts. I go through a decent amount of special needs wire, and solar, these guys meet my needs. I don't know many using this for speakers, but I know a few radio clubs that use this for dc power to devices, me included. I use this on my personal truck for operating overhead lighting and aux radios. I have not experienced any problems or failures. I did not get the full 100 ft ordered on spool, but 3 feet wasn't worth batching about either. I was able to complete my installs as expected. I will be purchasing more in near future as I install auxiliary radios and lighting into the wife's truck. 73

UL Listed and great for in-wall use!
Like many others have found out the hard way (after the return window ended...), the Amazon Basics "in-wall" speaker wire is not actually rated for in-wall use in the USA. Insurance companies can deny fire damage claims if they find out you used non-UL Listed wire inside of walls. This wire is nice and thick, has flexible insulation, and looks neat when installed in my walls and ceiling. I'm finishing my basement and bought 500' of this to pre-wire for a 7.2.4 system (that I'll probably never have) so this spool was perfect. The payout box works with a simple pull. This should be able to handle just about anything I can throw at it... I'm using this wire for a home theater, but also a bar room and a set of outdoor patio speakers that range from 2-8 ohms. 12AWG is plenty of wire for anything I own (read: overkill) but I'll never need to think about wire size again!
