Great set, fantastic product
I grew up with a marble set in the 80s and was so excited to buy a set for my kids. I narrowed the choice down to three brands here on amazon and ultimately chose this set. Without testing any, this seemed like it had the best variety and the most amount of pieces. After playing with it (And my kids too, of course), I am happy with the variety of runs and more importantly, as a parent, they are very sturdy and would take a lot of break. It's a massive complete set and has everything you would want. I only have two minor complaints, which are not strong enough to deter anyone from buying this set. First is that $70 is a high price to pay for this set, albeit my complete satisfaction. $50 would be a steal and $70 seems a little too high. I have noticed the price vary since i purchased it for $70. My second complaint would be that the set doesn't have enough feet/legs. You can see the wild run made in the listing picture - you can notice that it is entirely supported by 2 towers of "leg" pieces, and the runs go back and forth from the support beams/towers. I'd really like to expand this horizontally and not be forced to build up, especially being forced to go back/forth so often. Again, two minor complaints. There are cheaper sets which I will probably buy down the road to expand this one. My kids (and myself) absolutely love this set. It's very large so there are always new options of routes to try. The feet (end of the run) is a nice pot that collects the marbles. The transparent tubes are a lot of run and again, very sturdy - didn't think I'd get those two together. If you are looking for a large marble run set, this is a fantastic set and I am extremely glad I purchased it and look forward to being a toy for my kids the next 10+ years.

A SUPERB marble track; don't miss this one!
This set is awesome. The parts are well-made, rugged, and precise. There are enough cool pieces to keep multiple kids happy dropping marbles into the funnels at the top. And there is enough going on to watch the marbles all the way down to the reservoirs in the feet. I was happily surprised to find that there were two "switches" included, so the marbles don't follow the same path every time. The set works with my existing collection of standard marbles, so I'm not limited to the 20 included pieces. The biggest problem I had with the set is that the layout described in the instructions is a little bit fragile and hard to set up. But it is totally cool as well! If I were to add extra pieces to the set, it would probably be plain old ordinary cylindrical supports; more supports would probably allow me to make stronger, less fragile layouts. I previously bought a cheap imitation. It used only micro sized marbles, and doesn't hold together very well. I spent a bit extra and bought the original, and I'm totally glad I did. If you're thinking about it, quit thinking and just BUY IT! You'll be glad, too. Oh, and the shipping was amazingly fast. Thanks for ruining my evening when I got home from work and found the kit on the couch two days earlier than expected. So I just HAD to play with it and ignore everything else I should have been doing! All in all, a fantastic buy!

Buy this! After two mistake purchases we finally got smart with Marble Genius!
FINALLY!!! This is our third marble run/maze and folks, we have a winner! The first one was given to us, is dinosaur themed, and really can be put together only one way. While my son enjoyed putting the marbles down the run, and hey, what 4 year old boy doesn't love a dinosaur theme?!--it just had no room for being creative and he couldn't build it himself. Then our second set was the Migoga by Quercetti with a hand cranked elevator for a perpetual motion effect. We did NO research on it (big mistake not reading any reviews), just bought it in an educational toy store when they were having a sale, because it looked cool, seemed like you could buy other Quercetti sets to add to it and it's made in ITALY, NOT CHINA, which we liked. But that set, too, seemed to want to be built according to one design plan (especially if you actually want to use the elevator) and if you try to improvise, it just isn't intuitively easy to build with. Now, I am an absolute novice at marble runs, but at 47 years old, I'd think a toy designed for a kid shouldn't be too hard to use, and the Quercetti just wasn't stable enough or easy to build creatively with. NOW...with Christmas barely 3 weeks behind us, I just had to try again to get a marble run that my now 5 year old could work with, one that my husband and I could play with, too, and be creative with, one that had lots of options that we wouldn't get bored with. THIS IS IT! I love the transparent nature of the pieces. This extreme set has lots of bells and whistles. It's fun. I highly recommend it. And I'm glad we didn't start with the "starter" set - I'd say get all the fun at once! I've included video of our first creation. When you see marbles getting stuck and needing a nudge, those are marbles we already had here, NOT the ones that came with this set. The 20 it came with work perfectly.

Frustrating to put together but entertaining when it does work
This marble run is pretty good for kids, as long as they're careful with it. My kids (7, 6, 4) play with it a ton, but it took a lot of teaching them to be gentle with the pieces since they slide around easily and it's not super stable on desks. We ended up putting rugs under it to keep it steady. I tried to let my 7-year-old build it himself, but he couldn't because even I had trouble putting the parts together. I ended up building it, and it took about an hour to make a decent marble run with only two exits and eight different tracks. Building from a table to floor worked out better for the product since it was more stable to have two different setups. Wider, non-slip bases would've made a huge difference. All the pieces are plastic, and for almost $100, I would've expected some metal or wood in there.

Fantastic Marble Run!!
Bought this set as a supplement to the Marbulous Marble Run - 82 Pieces + 50 Marbles (Total 132 Pc Set) Sturdy Setups with Clear Step-by-step Illustrated Instructions in Four Different Skills Levels With Reusable Plastic Bucket that we bought for our son Christmas of 2015. Shortly after Christmas he used gift money for a translucent set to get more pieces. These marble runs are very popular with the kids, and adults and opened up a new collection of marbles, of which we now have around 1500. I bought this particular set because we wanted more, and different, "stunt" pieces. I plan to give more pieces a few at a time as incentives. This set fits the Edushape Marbulous Marble Runs and I would probably recommend this one for a first set. Not that we are unhappy with the first 2, but this set offers more and different "stunts" and all of the pieces are building pieces, not just ornamental. Specifically, we like: The translucent pieces make it easier to track the marbles as they go through the run. The additional stunt pieces make it possible to have more involved and complex runs. Many that don't come in smaller sets There are 3 or 4 large base or reservoirs to catch the marbles at the bottom. Kids love to see how many marbles they can have going at once. These extra bases will keep the marbles from piling up too fast. However, they aren't as deep as they appeared in the pictures. These are great interactive toys. If you are getting a set I recommend you also have a large plastic tub to keep them altogether, lots of additional and more colorful marbles (5/8ths "target" marbles and "pee wees" work ), clear plastic containers/jars to keep the marbles in. Glass jars are great for decorative purposes, but pouring glass marbles into them can and will chip marbles and break the glass container. Unlike many reviews I have been reading all over Amazon, I'm not getting anything for my review. No freebies, no discounts. Just think these are great toys.

Sturdy materials and great design!
Really great marble run set! Plastic is thick and strong; I feel so many toys these days are made with the thinnest, weakest plastic possible to save money - not this. Pieces are not flimsy at all and plastic is hard and seems extremely durable; pieces fit together snuggly and are sized consistently to build large tracks. The different types of pieces are great; the splitter pieces (only in the extreme set) are crucial for making tracks that diverge and converge back - perfect for racing! And the roundabout pieces add an element of randomness that makes races more fun, as marbles that are 'behind' can catch up there with a little luck. My 4 and a half year old son especially loves the jump and catch piece; you just need to be careful setting it up, as it requires a lot of testing to get the placement just right; I consider this part of the fun, but young kids might need some help. We opened it yesterday (3 Kings Day) and my son and I were up way past his bed time building and playing - great for kids and addictive for adults too. With a little thought and planning you can make some awesome tracks; my goal is to use every piece and make all the tracks approx. equal time for racing. Remember that stability is key when building large tracks.

Great toy-hours of fun
I have always wanted a marble run! This one came with plenty of action pieces, connecting pieces, and lots of marbles. The only suggestion is more and larger collecting bases would be great. Our first attempt at building an epic track did not go well but no problems after that first try! The pieces connect well and securely. My kids and I liked to see if we can use all of the pieces-weve used 290 pieces for a single track. We've had a track over 3 feet high. This has provided literal hours of fun indoors. It allows everyone to problem solve and strategize. If your kids like building sets get this! Do note that it can be extremely loud when pouring the marbles onto the track-lots of noisy fun for kids (6โ10) and adults (40s).

We love it
I got this for my husband for his birthday and he and my son (3) have a ton of fun (me too when Iโm allowed.) This size set seems perfect for a building team that includes an adult. (If you are someone who will only build the set according to the โdirectionsโ you can definitely go with something smaller.) Though we do have three add-on sets as well, this set really has everything you need for endless fun. (Scoops and Jumps is my favorite add-on, and Sky High Circles allows for a very different build.) One note, at the time I purchased I was nearly swayed not to buy by a very good customer video from 2016 I think, which showed certain color combinations not fitting well together. This flaw is not present in any of the sets Iโve purchased in 2020. Every piece across all sets fit perfectly together. Iโve also read in reviews for this and other marble runs that pieces can sometimes stretch and stop fitting together tightly over time. Weโve only had ours a few months, but have used it quite a bit and have not experienced any loosening yet. We like this brand so much we bought a Super set for my niece and nephew for Christmas.

Fun for All Ages โ Great Quality and Keeps Everyone Engaged
All my kids love playing with thisโeven my 14-year-old joins in! Itโs a fantastic hands-on activity that helps with hand-eye coordination, learning about colors, and understanding cause and effect. Weโve had a blast doing marble races, guessing the winner, and playing elimination rounds. It really brings the whole family together. They still like to pull it out after 4 years. The pieces are made of thick, durable plastic and snap together securely. Weโve been able to build all kinds of creative layouts beyond whatโs shown in the instructions, which keeps it exciting every time. A great mix of fun, learning, and family timeโhighly recommend!

Fun for all ages
This has been the best toy purchase for our kids. They love it!! We often sit as a family and build this together, it keeps us all entertained! Super easy to follow instructions, the app is amazing and has so many builds to try and even our 2 year old gets to help and play with it too Our 5 year old son is loving learning how to build his own mazes and itโs helping him sit still for longer while he concentrates. Best Buy!

Great fun- missing the marbles though
I bought this for my nearly 5 year old, great fun for all the family. The only negative is that it said it came with 20 marbles on the box but these were nowhere to be found!
