This works
This worked. We make wine and reuse the washed bottles and this removed a stuck cork. Nothing else worked

Works Great & Easy To Use
Works great. Have used it many times. Works great on older corks that snapp in half while trying to uncork the wine. Very easy to use.

Works for bourbon bottles, but not as well.
I bought this item intending to use it for something other than what it was designed for. Unlike wine, bourbon in unopened bottles cannot be stored on the side. The interaction between the liquor and the cork ruins the flavor of the liquor. Also it is common to store an opened bottle of bourbon for months or even years. As a result, dried out corks are a common problem. The knob on top of a cork in a bourbon bottle prevents using devices that work well on wine corks. There's no alternative but to Twist and Hope. (Tip of the hat to the Isley Brothers!) When the cork breaks, the piece that ends up in the bottle is usually smaller than a piece of wine cork. The surface of the liquid may be well below the top of the bottle. Both of these factors keep the device from working as well as it would with a larger piece of cork floating near the top of the bottle. Even with these complicating factors, it is usually possible to use this tool to retrieve the broken cork from inside a bottle of bourbon. However, when there are several small pieces, or the bottle is below half full, it's necessary to resort to decanting and filtering.

The right tool
We had a bottle of Scotch Peppers and Vinegar which had a broken cork. With this tool it was easy to retrieve the cork before it could alter the taste if the vinegar.

Worked Perfectly on the First Try
This tool worked perfectly the first time I used it. The lower third of a broken cork ended up in the bottle. I just pushed the device into the bottle, and when I removed it the cork was held firmly in the prongs.

Pleasantly Surprised
I really didn't know what to expect from this gadget until I actually had need to use it. The cork broke upon opening an older bottle of wine, and there was no way to remove the bottom half. Ended up pushing it down into the bottle. I removed the cork retriever from it's original packaging, inserted the gadget into the bottle and pulled out the cork on the 1st attempt. It could not have been any easier. It's comforting to know that there's a simple solution to an annoying problem. I highly recommend having this Cork Retriever on hand because you never know when you'll need it.

It's fine
I tried to use this for whiskey bottles and it was challenging. Really designed for wine. Useful tool but seems potentially flimsy and harder to use for non wine shapes.

A lifesaver.
A lifesaver when the cork needs to be retrieved. Bought one for us, and several for friends. If you drink wine (especially vintage) regularly, you are going to need this eventually. Wouldn't be without one.
