Is there any gap in sound output when switching presets? I just got an MG 300 and the sound cuts out briefly during preset switching.

Got this as a gift for my husband and he said no. He said it’s very crisp when switching, no latency.

Can you plug this directly into a speaker cabinet to replace an amp, if so what wattage?

You can use the 4 cable method to set this up to an amp via the send/return function.The unit also has a L/R output to cabs as well.

It has balanced output?

You may need a passive DI to transform the unbalanced outputs to balanced outputs if the range to the PA is big enough. This shouldnt be much of an issue tough.
