White Locks (The Colorblind Trilogy)

White Locks, the second book in a trilogy by Rose B. Mashal, is both touching and romantic, as well as being informative. The main characters are two people of different cultures and religions,thrown together by fate. In White Locks they truly begin to understand one another and their love grows deeper despite all that stands between them. Marie has finally come to the realization that home is not the place she left, but the man she loves! She goes off in search for him in White Locks and their worlds finally begin to come together. White Locks is a beautifully written story of love clashing with. different traditions in the modern world. You feel for the characters and at the end, think of them not as from a novel but real people within the world. They will become a part of your heart in no time! I highly recommend White Locks as well as the first book, Black Keys! Rose B. Mashal will surely steal your heart!

As an avid reader I rarely come across a book that gets to my guts, touches my heart and soul as deeply as White Locks did. The story touches aspects of my real life that are sad and they brought the sobs but at the same time the wonderful love and bond between Marie and Mazen flutters my heart so much that the book leaves a warm feeling despite all the challenges and evilness Marie and Mazen meet. In this story we get to follow especially the growth of Marie from BK's naive, racist and judgemental Marie to a more mature, powerful woman who cares for her people and loved ones. On the other hand we get a more playful Mazen who faces a great challenge but always puts Marie first. I fell in love with him even more, how could I not. Moreover, we get a deeper insight into Islam and Arabic traditions, how love and marriage are seen differently in different cultures and these parts are so wonderfully integrated into the story. I learned so much as a reader from this book and that is really not so common in romance genre. When it comes to the writing style, I can say that Rose has a great talent in describing love and commitment writing sentences that could become classics in cards for weddings and Valentine's Dayl She touches also some controversial topics in White Locks but all this is done in a graceful, non-judgemental manner. I don't want to describe the plot too much because it would be difficult to avoid spoilers. In every case I can't wait to read book 3 and see how Marie's and Mazen's story continues.

I didn’t love this one as much as the first one but i still really enjoyed it. This felt more like a romance novel while the first in the series just felt like a well written novel with a plot wrapped in love. It just didn’t have as much weight to the story. It’s was still a good read though and I’m still going to read the last in the series.

I am so captivated by this Trilogy. Rose has done an amazing job of informing myself of knowledge about a specific religion and culture that I had not much knowledge of. In the first book I was so angry with Marie at the beginning for her hatred and prejudice(even though she had been thru a terrible tragedy) of a people that she really knew nothing about. There are bad and good in all races, cultures and religions. That being said, it doesn't mean that every person in a race, culture or religion are bad because of a few that are. I was so happy when she finally realized where she needed to be. The compassion, patience and love that Mazen has shown Marie just makes you love him more. I hope that everyone who reads this book realizes that no matter where we come from, we are all brother's and sister's and we should have open hearts and just love. I am sure the third book is going to be just as good if not better than the first two. Thank you Rose B. Mashal for giving us a beautiful love story that crosses boundaries an joins religions and cultures to show that with love all things are possible. You are amazing!!!!!

Amazing story! Rose B. Mashal delivers a beautiful story of love, of compassion and tolerance. A sequel to Black Keys, it tells of the life of an American executive who found herself in an arranged marriage in a foreign land, a kingdom full of tradition so different from hers. She had to leave her husband to discover herself, but only for a short time. She realizes how much she misses Mazen and returns to be with her love. Unsure of Mazen's feelings, she is determined to conquer cultural barriers and explore their need for each other. Their love is pure, kind and compassionate which make them strong for each other. They are one in spirit yet they are two different people. I like that Marie as a strong, intelligent and influential woman (although sometimes vulnerable when it comes to longing). Mazen proves to be very devoted to Marie; and no amount of pressure, cultural differences would diminish his love for Marie. A demonstration of how love is blind to obstacles. For Mazen, Marie is everything that he wants in a partner, lover and queen. I can't wait for the third book and hope that Mazen and Marie's love for each other will grow each day and remain faithful and strong for each other. More power and love to Rose!

I found this book in Inspirational fiction. Not exactly what I would classify as such. It reads better than the first book, not quite as YA. But the heroine is 23 running a large corporation with offices all over the world... doesn't seem plausible. Her maturity level throughout doesn't match up with a corporate CEO. The authors view of Islam is interesting, but not in line with their faith. The tolerance of Christianity portrayed is not a reality. I think she didn't do her homework where that is concerned.

A great read, emotional, a bit of mystery. Teaching of real love and understanding. Can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Read book one of this trilogy COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN as soon as I finished book one I purchased this book 2 in the series , well what can I say, did not think it could get any better or worse for Mazen and Maria but this has so many twist and turns I could not put this down I actually finiahed it last night and was so disappointed that I could not purchase book three, Hope its not too long. The first book in this series was free, believe me if you are tempted to get it YOU MUST its brilliant I guarantee you will want the next books.

We can feel the main character pain while the author was describing the whole story. The sadness, the love, the hate was so intense that is hard to go to sleep before finishing another chapter. I can't wait to start The Golden chain.
