Streamlight 88811 Wedge 1,000-Lumen Flat Flashlight, Coyote

I'm a huge Streamlight fan, I have several models of their weapon-mounted lights (WMLs), head lights, and hand-held lights, so I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship of their products, as far as WMLs, I will only use Streetlight and no other brand; their customer service is excellent as well, Regarding this Wedge light, I think they hsve another winner! , this ;ight is built like a tank, as I have dropped it a few times and used it in cold and rainy weather, no problemo! the light is very bright and durable; I really appreciate the tTHRO mode for a momentary burst. of extra brightness,; it'svery easy to activate using the rotary thumb switch; the anodized aluminum finish is very durable and feels very good in-hand and the purple color I selected looks very stylish, It fits very comfortably in my pants pocket alongside my EDC knife and the supplied reversible clip allows it to attach to my carry pouch very securely. It charges quickly and easily with a USB-C Cable, and a full charge lasts a LONG time, in fact I've never run,it dry while using it, It's rated for a 3 hour constant-on run time which has been more than enough usage for me as an EDC ight. (I light up my walkway at night since I am handicapped and need to see my way clearly.) I do charge it weekly to maintain battery health; A couple of nits: there is no strobe mode, nor is there a tail switch to facilitate using it as a one-handed tactical light (e.g. with a hand-held pistol, Nor is there a magnetic base for attaching to metal surfaces as a work light. These are minor shortcomings, otherwise this light is just about the best flash light I've used, certainly the longest lasting; a little pricey but worth it; It has put up with my daily abuse for about 5 years now, and shows no signs of slowing down, finish still shines, bulb is still bright, switch still works, and battery still holds a charge. Highly recommended, buy with confidence!, you will not regret it.

I’ve been using the Streamlight Wedge as my primary flashlight for about a year and a half now, and at this point it’s my constant companion, one of those tools I genuinely feel naked without. I’m a mechanic, so this light hasn’t lived an easy life. It’s been submerged in oil, coolant, fuel, water, brake cleaner mist, grease, pretty much every fluid you can think of in a shop, and it just keeps working. I don’t baby it. It lives in my pocket every day, gets dropped, knocked around, and used constantly under hoods, dashboards, frames, and equipment. What really sets the Wedge apart for me is the form factor. It disappears in your pocket but is instantly accessible, and the flat profile makes it far more comfortable than traditional round lights. The output is more than enough for real work, and the beam pattern is ideal for close up inspection without blinding yourself or washing everything out. Battery life has also been excellent. It lasts for hours, which is why it’s not just a work light for me. I use it hunting as well. Whether I’m in the shop or out in the field, it’s the same light in my pocket doing the job. The switch is intuitive, the build quality feels solid, and the rechargeable battery has been reliable with zero issues over time. It’s one of those tools you stop thinking about because it just works every single day. There are plenty of flashlights out there, but very few earn a permanent place in your pocket. This one has. If mine ever died tomorrow, I wouldn’t hesitate to replace it with another Wedge the same day.

This high quality aluminum flashlight is superb in every way. It is definitely worth its very high price. It is small and comfortably fits in even the smallest hands. It is lightweight. It is recharged via USB C so you will never need to buy batteries for it. Each charge lasts a very long time. The on/off switch has a “turbo mode” that is engaged by pushing and holding the on/off switch forward (a natural motion). This high power mode increases the light output from the normal 300 lumens to a whopping 1000 lumens for 35 seconds maximum. The color temperature isn’t specified but it’s in the 6000 degree range which helps illuminate things deep into the darkness. It even has a clip so it can be held easily on a pocket for quick access. I live in a mountainous area in the desert SW and regularly use this flashlight when I go outside at night. I feel secure that this very bright light will ward off the coyotes, wild pigs and other desert critters that own the night here. I have over 10 (small & large) other flashlights around the house but use this one 95% of the time. (My 4 D cell one is used for really long range.). You will love this flashlight and it also is a fantastic gift as well. Kudos to the designers.

If you're like me, you're probably second-guessing whether you need to spend 80-odd bucks on a flashlight. I mean, your phone has one, it takes up no space in your kit, and it's free! I decided to pull the trigger on this light, and I'll never look back. I had been looking for a reliable, quality USB-C rechargeable light for awhile, and the Wedge simply checks all the boxes. I've had RovyVons in the past, but they're a little too small to hold and locate conveniently, and they get lost because they're so small. The Wedge fits perfectly in a pocket, and locates super quickly when I need some light. The thumbswitch is intuitive and easy to locate with a single motion when you pull it out of a pocket. It's super durable, surviving multiple drops onto concrete. It's not super bright, but it's more than bright enough for what I use it for at work (locating mechanical equipment, tracing wires, lighting up dark areas). It's also great that it doesn't have any stupid "tactical" strobe function: it turns on, it turns on extra bright if you need it, and it turns off. The runtime is incredibly good; I'd say it probably lasts for at least a few hours on a single charge. Charging is super convenient, since there's no dustcap that you need to remove on the back, and it charges with the same USB-C cable you'd use for your phone; I can throw it on the nightstand to charge at night if I notice it getting low. I'd say I charge it maybe once every week or two, with casual (10-15 minutes) of usage per day. Ultimately, while this light doesn't exactly shine (pun intended) in any one particular area, it's the perfect all-rounder. I find myself reaching for it much more often than I expected I would, simply because when I need some extra light, it's WAY faster (and brighter) than pulling out my phone and turning on the flashlight.

THIS FLASHLIGHT IS GREAT. LOVED THE SWITCH. LOVE THE EASY 3 MODE SETTINGS. OFF. ON 300. PUSH FORWARD THRO 1000. POCKET CLIP IS GREAT. IT CAN EVEN SWITCH SIDES. CHARGING PORT IS OKAY. BUY A USB C PORT PLUG AND YOU WILL BE FINE. WHAT I DIDN'T LOVE IS THE FACT THAT I USED IT TWO WEEKS IN THE FIELD AND THE LIGHT GAVE UP. MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO GET MUDDY AND DIRTY. WHETHER IT BE A WATER MAIN BREAK OR JUST OR DIGGING A HOLE, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING. NOW I KNOW MOST OF YOU WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO JUMP IN A 4 FOOT PUDDLE OF WATER SO IF THAT IS NOT IN YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. BUT, IF YOU DO ANY KIND OF PHYSICAL LABOR. THIS IS FOR YOU. I GAVE IT 4 STARS CAUSE IT IS A GREAT FLASHLIGHT. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS WILL SERVE YOU WELL AND YOU PROBABLY WON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IF YOU WORK IN AN OFFICE OR JUST EDC IT. BUT IF YOU WORK WITH GRIME AND GRIT, WELL I'M NOT TO SURE YOU SHOULD GET IT. I KNOW THIS FLASHLIGHT IS NOT CLAIMING TO BE A SUREFIRE OR MODLITE. BUT BEING ABLE TO BE USED AFTER BEING SUBMERGED IN SOME MURKY WATER IS A MUST FOR ME.THE IPX7 RATING IS OKAY. I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WATER PROOFING. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IF YOU GET ANY LITTLE TINY PARTICULATE IN BETWEEN THE BACK OF THE ROTATING SWITCH AND THE BODY. GOOD LUCK. I HAD TO HAMMER THE BUTTON OUT TO GET IT TO TURN ON AND THEN WHEN I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT THE BUTTON WAS JAMMED ON. I CLEANED IT WITH A SMALL GUN BRUSH THE DAY AFTER AND WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW. NOW WHEN I WOULD SHUT IT OFF. THE LIGHT STAYED ON IN MY POCKET. TO ME IT'S A FATAL FLAW FOR HOW MUCH THIS COST. God FORBID YOU ARE IN A SITUATION WHERE YOU NEED TO DEPEND ON THIS FLASHLIGHT AND, OOPS, THERE YOU GO. THE BUTTON IS JAMMED CAUSE YOU HAD TO ROLL IN THE DIRT A LITTLE EARLIER. TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. YOU MAY HAVE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LIGHT THAN I HAVE. YOU MAY GO ON A NICE STROLL WITH IT, TAKE IT OUT TO DINNER, TO THE MOVIES. BUT AS FOR ME, IT IS GETTING RETURNED. COME ON STREAMLIGHT. DO JUST A PINCH BETTER.

Miss light is fantastic everywhere I go. It's with me.Never know when I need it only when I don't have it on me.I wish I had it on me. At night walking in the park sometimes you get a dark area And you need light to secure your walk. It's like extremely bright floodlight. And if you need more, you push the switch forward to triple the brightness. It's amazing.I owned a BMW repair shop this was the best pocket light I ever had. In my thirty years, not too big, not too small.And very bright. If you can buy one, that's used, grab it up. I lost mine, and that's what I just did. Has a long battery life of at least 24 hours of constant use. Shines bright like a diamond. Easy to carry and use as an EDC. However the clip on the side the fasteners are WAY too tight to undo and it twisted my torx bit. So im stuck with it on the wrong pocket.

Amazing build quality, exactly what I was looking for in an excellent torch, 10/10.
