Douglass Oil Lighter Field-L Aluminum

This is a great lighter. It is light weight, has a spare flint in the filler cap. It lights very easy and extinguishes easily as well; all with one hand. The finish is just gorgeous. I really like the two-tone aesthetic. Like most lighters, this heats up a bit if you leave the flame going for a while. Something I never noticed in videos and pictures us that this Field L, like the Field S, is stamped with a production number. It is located on the barrel, near the bottom, by the filler cap. I am very addicted to these Japanese lighters and I have quite the collection growing.

I like the lighter, I dislike that I have to refill fluid every 2 days! The flints are also hard to get!

I purchased my Douglas Field lighter L from a different place. The lighter is Japanese made and of very high quality. The instructions are in Japanese, but a little bit of research on the internet; like YouTube; provides easy to understand instructions. It hold lighter fluid longer than a zippo; thanks to the sealed fluid system. Have very good wind blocking; on par with a zippo. Light weight. Good looking. Easy to one strike light. Makes me seem like a classy chap; although I’m not. It’s so nice that I now want the solid brass one. If you can use the internet to surf Amazon, you can use the internet to find instructions. It would take more effort to repack, get a return label printed, drive to USPS/UPS/FedEx/Kohl’s, than it would take to search the inter webs for English instruction/YouTube video on how to make this awesome lighter work; I guess some people can’t make an effort to do research, yet they will make an effort to complain and poorly rate one of the best lighters on the market.

The product looks good, but we can't use it because the instructions are not in English. I'm going to return it.
