Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt's Creek

I preordered this book the instant it went up on Amazon, but before I even got my copy I saw Dan and Eugene Levy at the Beacon Theater in NYC hold a conversation about what went into the book and why. They discussed tons of tidbits (Dan even got Moira's missing baubles wrong from the first episode, saying they were bracelets, when the crowd reminded him they were earrings that she misplaced -- "Don't *at* me!" he said, hilariously). They anecdotally discussed content from the book while projecting it on-screen, telling the audience little tidbits (helped by fan accounts like Schittssheets on Instagram) with factoids like: 1. You never actually hear the swear word "sh*t" in the TV series. "F***" yes, but "sh*t" no. 2. Moira never utters the name of the town "Schitt's Creek" at any point during the show. 3. Eugene Levy rejected a scene which placed him on a beach shouting at the ocean in frustration. He didn't want depression to be a factor in his character. 4. When informed that they would continually add dark and preposterous wrinkles to Twyla's backstory, Sarah Levy simply asked --paraphrasing-- "And I still need to say all of this while smiling?" 5. The Johnny Rose-authored book 'Fast Forward To Success' features current-era Eugene Levy posing on the cover, but with a Photoshopped younger Eugene Levy head superimposed on the book jacket. Upon looking through the book itself (event-goers received a copy with their ticket, which was nice since I got to look through it before my Amazon copy arrived) they have heaps of fun details and sections like: 1. The Moiracabulary, which goes over every unique word that Moira uses during the show, such as Eugene Levy's favorite "bombilate" and Dan's favorite "Dangersome." 2. There's a map and guide to all of the misadventures that Alexis is described as getting into on the show, such as being kidnapped by Somali pirates from David Geffen's yacht. Eugene Levy described that only the best of the best of the elite get on David Geffen's yacht - "The Kardashians haven't been on David Geffen's yacht." 3. Fan art (but beautiful fan art) graces the book in places like The Crows Have Eyes 3 - The Crowening movie poster gallery. 4. A gallery of every outfit Moira wore during the series. 5. A gallery of Moira's wigs. 6. Intros written by every actor/character on the show on what it meant to them. 7. Massive amounts of behind the scenes details, like when Annie Murphy and Dan Levy found each other wandering through the sets on the final day of shooting, and just collapsed onto a couch and cried it out as the momentum stopped and the emotion caught up with them. 8. A gallery of fictional books conceived and designed to complement Fast Forward To Success on a bookshelf (the backstories for every character go super deep, so the writer's room would know how to write each character as the series progressed). This is not a casual coffee table book, filled with big pictures and pull quotes in large oversized fonts. This is a big book of substance for every Schitt's Creek fan out there, and is in my opinion indispensable if you consider yourself a fan of the show. I'll be keeping the copy I got at the live event, as well as the one I preordered on Amazon. The one I received at the show will be the one I pore over and thumb through in the upcoming years, or to pull as a reference while watching the show for further insight. My 2nd copy will remain on the shelf, in pristine condition forevermore, or until it is needed to gift to a future fan of the show.

If you are a huge fan of the series Schitt’s Creek as I am, you must get this beautiful book! It provides an intimate insider’s view of the series and describes Dan Levy's loving treatment of every detail to create an enduring experience for viewers. The book is filled with gorgeous photos of scenes, sets, costumes (including David’s sweaters and Moira’s outfits and wigs), and the main characters. The actors provide their personal commentary about the characters they played and their favorite scenes. I found myself shedding a tear or two as I read memorable and hilarious dialogue highlighted. This is a fabulous book that if displayed on a coffee table will start conversations. It is “simply the best” book!

If you love Schitt's Creek as much as I do you MUST get this book!! It's full of great behind the scenes information and there's lots of pictures from the show. I've never adored a television show as much as I do Schitt's Creek. It came along at the perfect time in my life when I (and all of us) needed a show with great characters, great storylines, great acting and full of love that fills your heart up to the point of overflowing! Thank you, Dan and Eugene Levy, for creating a town where everyone is accepted and loved without judgements from others and for creating such wonderful and lovable characters. I've watched the entire series 5 times now and always pick up something new with each viewing. It never fails to make me laugh! Thank you!!!!!!

This book far surpassed any expectations. A MUST for all fans of the show. It takes you behind the scenes with photos & lots of fascinating cast conversations, includes some very impressive fan art, as well as Moira's wigs, David's knits and lots of other fun reminders of the series. This book is as much of a feel good as the show itself. It's very high quality from the photos to the writing to the presentation. Daniel & Eugene put the same heart, humor, smarts and style into this coffee table book as they did with the show. Buy it!!!

Yall, this is the BEST book about a series I've ever seen. It is incredibly well done. To start, I just love Schitt's Creek. I binged it early in the pandemonium (yall know what word I mean there), and I will rewatch more episodes anytime. A few other things about this book that really make it stand out - each main character has a page where they get to share a few thoughts, it has TONS of fan art (and it's good fan art too; these fans are so talented), it also lists each episode in each season and talks a little about every single episode. It's so obvious that these guys went through so much effort to pull all this together - like all of David's sweaters and all of Moira's hairstyles. I absolutely loved this one. Super giftable, and I may be ordering one for myself.

If you're a fan of the show, you will love this book. I got it for my husband for Christmas, and he is super happy with it. There are lots of great pictures, and so many fun anecdotes and behind-the-scenes information. This makes a great little coffee table book!

A must for any Schitt's Creek fan, especially if you love the last episode documentary like me. Tons of interesting behind the scenes info, interviews with the cast, fun facts (Moira's wigs! David's sweaters!) Bought it for myself for Christmas and couldn't wait to read it, was not disappointed. A lovely hardcover coffee table book.

We are huge Schitts Creek fans. I took this book out of the library but I didn't want to return it so I bought my own copy! The print is tiny but it's packed with so much information. Nice book to just leave on the coffee table while we watch it for about the 5th time through the series. It's a great reference on each episode.

Totally awesome book! I bought two as gifts. I am delighted to report that the book was way more beautiful than expected. It is so well done! It has lovely photographs, art works from fans etc. The cover and pages are luxurious! Best quality! Great contents! It is pleasurable and fun to read! The book is a keepsake!

Great book

Completely satisfied.. a treat for all schitts creek lovers

Reading non fiction is very off brand for me, (does a book about a tv show with fictional characters living in a fictional town count as non fiction?) but this book is spectacular. It’s evident how much care was put into creating this book and there is so much information that just made me appreciate the show even more. I’ve watched the show 4 times over now and the book did an amazing job of still teaching me something new and also giving me a new lens to see the characters through. I thought it would just be a book with loads of still images (which I still would not have been mad at lol) but actually there’s so much to digest in this book that I will definitely revisit it the same way I revisit the show. One of my favourite things about the show is that there was no room for hate. We’ve grown accustomed to expecting diverse characters to be met with adversity in their perspectives (especially if they are black and/or LGBTQIA+) and I really loved that this show didn’t give any airtime to those narratives. I loved this journey for me and this book is must have for any and every Schitt’s Creek fan.

Allen voran die verrückte Familie Rose. Als ich eher zufällig Folge 1 von "Schitt's Creek" angeklickt habe, wusste ich nicht, was mich erwartet. Ich habe nicht im Entferntesten daran gedacht, dass sich hinter diesem Titel eine absolute Herzensserie verbirgt. 6 Staffeln lang habe ich mit den Roses gelacht, geliebt, gelitten - und auch mal ein Tränchen vergossen, einfach weil's so schön war. Die Serie ist so dermaßen perfekt auf den Punkt geschrieben und inszeniert. "Schitt's Creek" lässt mich nicht mehr los. Meine Lieblingsszenen schaue ich immer und immer wieder. Und es wird nie langweilig. . Vor lauter Serienliebe habe ich auf der Suche nach zusätzlichen Infos entdeckt, dass es auch ein offizielles Buch zur Serie gibt. Ohne Zögern habe ich es bestellt - und es hat mich genauso geflasht wie die Serie. "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards" ist ein echtes Kleinod. Die Macher und Hauptdarsteller der Serie, Daniel und Eugene Levy, haben das Buch selbst zusammengestellt. Ihr Buch spiegelt alles wieder, was die Serie ausmacht. Es steckt voller Liebe, Leidenschaft und Herzblut. Der rund 370 Seiten dicke und schwere Wälzer beinhaltet Fotos, Hintergrundinfos, Interviews und vieles mehr. Es ist eine Honmage an die Serie, ihre Schauspieler und alle an der Produktion Beteiligten. . Fazit: Für "Schitt's Creek"-Fans ist "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards" ein Must Have. Es ist ein Buch, das man immer wieder zur Hand nehmen und durchblättern kann. Ein gelungener Schlusspunkt zur Serie. Ein herzliches Goodbye. Ich liebe dieses Buch. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist mehr als in Ordnung. Eigentlich kommt man sogar noch günstig weg. Denn, ganz ehrlich: "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards" wäre auch mehr Geld wert.
