These charcoal igniters are really nice, and really work well when used properly. Different kinds of charcoal will all light a little different from each other - sometimes even causing excessive sparks. Be careful, dress properly, and let the igniter do the work. What I am really mad about is the company that is selling this igniter - they pulled a "bait and switch" with me, and sent me a "used, returned" item instead of the "NEW/UNUSED" one I purchased. I am so, so tired of vendors here on Amazon pulling this stunt. I did plug it in, and it works so I am going to keep it - I bought it with reward points, so I am not out real cash (just my points which are like cash). Find another vendor - plenty selling this same igniter.

This Charcoal starter is great it has worked flawlessly so far. I not only use it for starting charcoal but also use it to start fires in my firepit. Starting fires with this is so much cleaner and doesn't require accelerant which makes food taste way better.

This is the best charcoal started that I have ever used. It is well made and starts a fire within 2 to 5 minutes. I have not had to restart a single time. There is significant flame on the first start. I replaced an old element type that took a long time to start a fire. You will not regret buying this.
