Makes good coffee
It's a complete change for me having used machines and a cafetiere (french press) over the years. I've never had a percolator like this. It's really a bit of a revelation just how good this is. It makes 3 mugs of strong coffee which sets me up for the day and I'm loving it. It's easy to use, set up and clean and takes about 15 minutes from start to finish on a low heat on my gas hob. I would recommend this to anyone who loves coffee. One last thing to add. It comes with some paper filters. I checked and to buy 100 of these is, I think, a little expensive, obviously you can judge for yourself. So I bought 10 cafetiere replacement mesh screens. 4 inch in diameter. £4. You only need one which will last for ages, does the job for fine ground coffee and is reusable. Just sayin. Anyway just get one. You won't regret it.

Tasty, Hot Coffee
This makes really hot, tasty coffee. 9 cups is a little optimistic. I find it makes 3 mugs as follows: Fill with water up to the spout holes. Fill the coffee chamber with 3 good tablespoons of your favourite coffee. Better if you grind your own, not too fine. Ready ground is usually too finely ground but you can use a paper filter if you can't handle some coffee grounds in the bottom of your cup. Assemble the insert into the pot and heat to the point where the perculating process starts and you can see the activity in the glass knob. Turn the heat down and time it for about 7 minutes. Then enjoy your hot fresh brew. I use 2 cubes of white sugar and a teaspoon of Coffeemate for a nice sweet, rich cup of coffee. Can also be used outdoors, which is a bonus if camping or on a picnic.

Beautiful Percolator, but Coffee Taste is Subjective
The COLETTI Bozeman Coffee Percolator is undoubtedly a beautiful and well-made object. The design is classic and looks great on a stovetop or as part of a camping setup. However, I personally found the coffee it produced to be unpleasant, no matter how much I adjusted the brewing process. Despite using half a pound of coffee in my attempts, I was unable to get it to taste good to me. That said, taste is subjective, and I gave the percolator to a friend who enjoys the coffee it makes. For someone who appreciates the distinct flavour of percolated coffee, this might be a great choice. It’s well-built and easy to use, with no issues in functionality. If you like the taste of percolated coffee and value aesthetics, this percolator could work well for you. For those used to drip coffee or espresso, it may take some adjustment.

I like the simplicity of using a percolator. I was using a Pyrex glass percolator that I had acquired when I bought a property years ago. Not many exist anymore as they are almost entirely glass & date from the 1950-s to early 60's. It worked great & was mesmerizing to see it in action, as the glass allowed one to view the percolating action of the bubbles forming & going up through the glass percolating tube. Unfortunately one day I heard a loud "pop" as I was making coffee & discovered that the base of the percolating tube had shattered for some reason. I bought this model to replace it. It's very well made, despite being manufactured in China; wish it was made in America! One reviewer incorrectly stated that it's made in Montana. Yes, Bozeman & Butte are towns in Montana that Coletti named their models after; but it says right on the box that it's made in China. The entire coffee pot is stainless steel; other than the replaceable glass screw in top & the two wooden parts of the handle. The percolating tube, basket, etc. is stainless; unlike some other brands that are made of aluminum or plastic. I'm a welder & master craftsman & I have large hands. When I first got this, I felt that they should have made the handle larger, because unless I used the skills honed & perfected from playing the game "Operation" as a kid, my hand would touch the top or bottom parts of the metal handle. And the two wooden scales attached to the metal handle are even with the metal edges of the handle, rather than being larger & wider than the metal. "Why did they make the handle so thin, & the handle opening so small?" I would've made it with a larger opening, & thicker handle to make it easier & safer to grasp. So the first time that I used it, I picked it up with an oven mitt, but that made it even more difficult to get my hand on the handle properly. So the next time I lightly touched the handle, including metal parts of it, to "test" the temperature of it. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the entire handle portion of the coffee pot only gets warm; the wooden scales & the metal band of the handle do NOT get hot at all! So fear not; you can pick up the coffee pot without using an oven mitt or pot holder. Overall, it's decent quality & brews very well & quite fast; only takes a few minutes to brew perfect cups of coffee!
