I can't speak for the item unfortunately as this has been misold to the UK. It is a US plug, which in itself isn't a problem. But you cannot / must not use a 220V device in the UK without an expensive transformer, else you'll cause a fire. I have no idea how this item is allowed to be sold here in the UK. It makes no sense. If you're in the UK please look elsewhere for an impulse sealer.

This plastic sealing machine is amazing and super useful, especially for creating bubble balloon arrangements. Very Nice product

I have been using these impulse sealer designs for many years. They are simple to use, adjustable heat level. When buzzer stops, count to 3 before raising the handle .. it gives a better seal. Value is good for what you get. To an extent it is like buying brand name tires vs "meh" tires. They all do the same job, it all depends on how you care for them and it will get you from point A to point B. Sturdiness, it is strong. The housing is plastic though, previous model I have used had metal housing. Hope this helps. For a starter seal and until, I believe it is a good purchase. Oh .. it can seal the mylar pouch bags. I would recommend switching the heating element to an 8mm if you can for a broader seal. I have done it with other units and plan to with this one.

Seals great! No complaints

So I had mixed results over a 1 year period using this sealer for mycology bags. The heat adjustment works well but there is definitely a learning curve. I think its probably a perfectly fine sealer for lighter bags and/or a sealing situations that have no moisture. When sealing thicker 4-6mil myco bags I would have to to two or three parallel seals as every seal would have some tiny imperfection -mostly because the sealing area is only 2mm so any tiny water droplets could defeat the seal. The multiple passes worked but after shaking the bags I'd have media in between the seals telling me they were not 100%. Ended up buying a unit with a 7mm sealing area a week ago and its night and day the difference.
