Does this guitar have a low action? If not, can it be lowered?

I just just got one and did a full fret level (using the Stew Mac I beam with strings on and strings up to tension), crown, polish and set up. My action is now .040 at 12th fret on the low E and about .035 on the high E. Not a trace of buzzing with that low set up with a good fret level. I've got Thomastik-Infeld "extra light" (10-44) on it now. This is intended for rock guitar not a jazz guitar use. But the neck is straight and true and responded really well to the fret leveling.

I think the stock action was closer to .070 to .075, the nut was also cut too high.

Is this a semi hollow or full hollow body?

It is a hollow body guitar. Just because there might be a post connecting the top and back, doesn't mean it is a semi-hollow body. Violins, violas, and upright basses can have posts connecting the top and back. Those increase stability and volume. Those are hollow body instruments.

A semi-hollow guitar has a thick block running through the body that goes from the neck to the tail, or sometimes from the neck to just past the bridge. The center block is fully attached to the top and back of the instrument. Only the sides and sometimes the tail end of the guitar are empty.

How does it sound with a fuzz pedal?

It's a hollow body with a small center block, kind of like the peg inside a violin-but a little bigger. It has a P90 that seems to be a little dark. That's exactly what I like about the Grote Jazz Hollow Body electric guitar. 
I have a Big Muff Pi fuzz pedal but for all the world I would never think of using it with a Jazz Box/Blues Guitar. 
My guess it that it would accept a fuzz pedal very well, because this is a great guitar. Just remember not to stand directly in front of your amp or you may get feed back (unless you want that.

Has anyone replaced the machine tuners? if so what did you replace with? wanted to replace them but not drill out holes. looking for direct fit. thank
