They were held in brutal captivity―and managed to make it out alive. This is their story. The Lost Girls are Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus―three innocent young women who were kidnapped, imprisoned, and repeatedly molested and beaten in a Cleveland home basement for over a decade by a depraved man named Ariel Castro. Their incredible escape, in May 2013, made headlines all over the world. “Absorbing…a page-turning, detailed overview of this remarkable story.” ― Kirkus Reviews In this up-close-and-personal account―including exclusive interviews with Castro’s family members, secret girlfriend, neighbors, and others―veteran investigative journalist John Glatt reveals what it was like as Michelle, Amanda, and Gina waited, bound and chained, to be found. Shocking and heartbreaking, The Lost Girls is a true-crime tale that no reader will soon forget. “John Glatt is one of the finest true crime craftsmen writing today.” ―Howard Goldberg, VH1.com With 8 pages of chilling photos Review: Michelle Knight is amazing - these reads are must reads for anybody who has ever had a struggle or bad things done to them in their lives. Michelle Knight is an amazing person who as persevered though so much pain, sadness and turmoil. Her story has made me a stronger person being a person that has gone through my own abuses, struggles, trials and tribulations. The things she and the other girls went thrugh will forever be burned into my heart.I look forward to reading the next chapter of her life, Finding me a decade of darkness, A life reclaimed.Thankyou so much Michelle Knight for being such a positive rolmodel in my life. I hope and pray you get all the you deserve and I know you will. I love you Michelle Review: blew me away - This book goes down the entire time line of Ariel’s life and the details of his victims including the mother of his children and his children. His daughter’s role and connections to his victims. Emily’s story made me cry almost as much as Michelle’s. This case is so disturbing there were times I felt gross for reading it.

Great
This book is a great book to read. It goes into detail from the crime that happened on day one before the girls were kidnapped. It's also like reading a story of what they went through. Definitely a book worth reading if you're a crime buff

Well written account that I highly recommend.
This was a comprehensive, very well written account of Amanda Berry's, Gina DeJesus' and Michelle Knight's time and experiences under the control of Ariel Castro, Sr.'s sick and demented abductions and imprisonment. What was done to these girls by Ariel was very violent and abhorrent. I actually had to take a few breaks from the book for several hours while reading. It's disturbing but so accurate. I remember the televised coverage of the rescue and trial. The three girls have become true survivors and are so admirable for handling themselves so well after their rescue and after the trial. This book is so well done that I have no desire to read any other book about this event, with the exception of the individual books the girls, or rather, the women have had written about themselves.

Excellent, Well-Written Novel
Because of the subject matter, it's difficult to say that this is a good book; however, it's very well written & informative. I first read "Finding Me" by Michelle Knight which was an incredible story of strength, endurance, & finally triumph! This book gave some clarity & detail to many of the events that Michelle described as well as background on the Monster(I won't dignity him with a name) that inflicted such pain & horror. I would recommend both books to get a complete picture of what happened for more than a decade. I'm so thankful that these ladies were found; and continue to pray for them as they return & adjust to their lives.

Amazing. Courageous women. Cowardly man.
This book is disturbing but unstoppable. Once I read the first page I couldn’t put it down. I read it all night. Cried for days. It still makes me so very sad. I’ve actually researched more into how the victims are doing now. Amazingly sad but this is can be happening even next door... which makes it even a more difficult read. Definitely recommend and for parents- it just reiterates what we should teach our children. Sometimes you can’t even trust the people you “think” you know. I could go on and on- just read it. Be amazed at the courage of these beautiful women. Just amazing.

A decent read
I remember watching this case unfold in the media and wanted to know more about the case. The case is interesting but the author skips around a lot. It was very confusing at times and sometimes he talks about other crimes for no apparent reason. But worth a read. Their story is incredible. It's interesting to read how many times he got away with his violent behavior and how many people turned a blind eye to his behavior.

What a monster
I had heard about the Cleveland abductions and how the girls finally escaped, but I did not know the detail that is in this book. John Glatt researches his books thoroughly and his writing style is excellent.

heart breaking
incredible book , he really was a monster, to ruin these girls lives, not just being held captive but such degradation to them , my heart goes out to these girls and their families , a harrowing book but worth reading , highly recommend

Troppo giornalistico
