Is this product right for a red 1981 corvette?

We used it on a red Mercedes and it worked great at hiding any little swirly marks.

Yes I used it on my truck an it’s Maroon color an I used it on my Vette an it’s a bright red looks alright with me.

No, it's a piece of junk. Poor performance product. Wipe on, let it sit, and it just wipes off. It doesn't cover anything. Don't buy it!!!

Can a second coat of a different wax be applied on top of this for durability?

I never tried this but I don't think it would cause any problem. I would wait at least 24 hours after application of the UltraGloss to make sure it is very dry.
