Sony Playstation 3 160GB CECH-3001A, Console Only (Renewed)

I've always been leery about purchasing refurbished products. Seems I've always been burned in the few times in the past I've bought them. Inheriting someone else's problems and all. With that said, I really wanted a PS3 again, so I started looking into buying one. There are reports of certain companies claiming to refurbish consoles only to be flat out lying. There are several videos on YouTube exposing them, but it seems Amazon generally gets a passing grade. So, I put in the order (with an extended warranty), crossed my fingers, and waited for my PS3 to arrive. When it arrived and I first opened it, I was immediately shocked by its condition. It was advertised as being in "excellent" condition, and that is exactly how I would describe it. Practically looks brand new. The only signs of wear are the two scratches above the HDMI port as you see in the photo. This obviously didn't affect the performance. All of the other ports look great and show no visible signs of wear and tear. Either Amazon replaced everything or the console's previous owner took good care of it. As the photos show, the console as a whole looks clean and free of blemishes. I found no dust around the fan or vent. No grime in the cracks. The console may have lost that "new electronics" aroma long ago, but it does have a clean, fresh scent. I've had it for ten days now and have put quite a few hours into it. I've downloaded a few games from the Playstation store and played a few from discs. Discs load, are read, and eject smoothly with no signs of struggle. Games and apps play and work as they should. I could have found a PS3 a little cheaper elsewhere, but I wanted to go this route, as Amazon usually stands behind the quality of their products and services. I couldn't be happier with this purchase so far, and I intend to order a refurbished PS2 here on Amazon very soon.

Just got it today. I was hesitant to order a used one because it's hit or miss most of the times. I was blown away by how clean the ps3 was. It looked brand new. I'm very pleased with it. I wanted to play some old school call of duty games and ps3 was the right choice. The order only came with the console so if you don't own a ps4 or ps5 that uses the same cables then order some separately. You can use ps4 and ps5 controllers with the ps3 so that's a nice bonus. Update: The ps3 does lag and stutter on games. The hard drive does need to be replaced for an SSD. It is worth it as after the upgrade it works like new.

Yes, beyond impressed. Advertised as console by itself no plugs or controller which is fine. I have been wanting to replace my PS3 from 2010 that shuts off or don’t play good anymore so I have all cables and controllers. This was my second attempt at purchasing a PS3 through Amazon and this one, I struck gold. Thank you to this seller for such excellent care and honesty. It works perfect and looks brand new. Have been playing and making sure physical games discs and movies work and i have had no problem. The downloaded games work as they should and am beyond impressed. Thanks again.

To be honest, I was worried about buying a refurbished PS3, but this seller delivered. The console doesn't come with any controllers, so I had to power it up with an old controller I had for my Guitar Hero, and it worked! The PS3 connected to the internet and updated correctly. I've been playing for a month without any issues. It has some scratches as expected. Recommended!

It arrived today as a Christmas gift for my brothers. I was beyond excited, to relive the classics we played as kids. I inspected it before we wrapped it up. (Didn’t want to get all excited for a console that didn’t work) Everything worked, things were going great until I put a disc in. The disc worked, but when I went to eject. Nothing. The eject didn’t work at all. I can do a manual eject luckily. But it’s a nuisance. So keep this in mind when ordering. It would’ve been five but I gotta give it a three.

Came with wires and control i just have to see how far this refurbished ps3 will last on to a good start this was 6 days late but came with everything this was well worth the wait

My first PlayStation 3 lasted for 23 years & I bought that one also from you great people at amazon.I hope & pray that this one lasts even longer.I'm now 65 years young & yes I play games almost daily.I'm handy capped & on social security & bed ridden.so my PS/3 helps this old fart (ha!ha!)pass the days away.so keep up the great work you,s at amazon do.I just wish I had the money to add & would be able to add a PS/4 .so I could try a PS/4 out.the reason I bought this refurbished PS/3 again is do to the fact I have over 20 games down loaded onto my ps3 counsel.&I have 58 games on DVD stacked up on my shelve.& I bought all my games from amazon.& in closing I want to thank the folks at amazon once again ( THANK YOU ALL once again .

Nicely packaged! Unit was shipped in bubble wrap and foam pellets to protect it during transit. Connected it to my TV, seamless setup and works as expected. Very much appreciated and at a great price! Unit does not come with a power cable or controller but those are readily available on Amazon. Thanks for helping me relive the PS 3 glory days!
