What should I teach today? If you’ve ever asked that question as a yoga teacher, The Inspired Yoga Teacher is your answer. From Gabrielle Harris, author of the bestselling The Language of Yin , this practical and inspiring guide is designed to help yoga teachers plan and teach confident, meaningful classes — without overthinking, over-explaining, or losing the flow of the practice. This book is about teaching yoga beyond the poses in a way that works in real classrooms. Rather than offering theory or pose mythology alone, it gives you clear themes, refined language, and class-ready structures you can use immediately. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced teacher trainer, The Inspired Yoga Teacher supports the essential work of teaching: choosing a theme, shaping a class, finding the right words, and guiding students through a complete experience on the mat. Inside you’ll find: • Ready-made class themes for yoga teachers • Practical class-planning and sequencing frameworks • Fully developed sequences for vinyasa, hatha, yin, restorative, and chair yoga • Teaching scripts, cueing tips, and language you can use directly in class • Simple ways to weave philosophy, intention, and reflection into movement and rest Practice-ready yoga classes Includes complete class outlines with posture lists, themes, teaching notes, modification options, and closing rituals — designed to be taught as written or easily adapted. Used worldwide in yoga teacher trainings, The Inspired Yoga Teacher is a trusted resource for educators who want to teach with clarity, confidence, and creativity. Whether you need inspiration at the last minute or a deeper framework for class planning, this book belongs beside you as you prepare to teach. Let this book support the way you plan, guide, and hold space. Review: Teachers and future teachers are sure to find some inspiring gems within this book - I saw this book when I was in my 200-hr YTT, but I went ahead with purchasing it when my 300-hr YTT trainer (different studio) had several copies and everyone was raving about it. I haven't read it cover to cover, but I love how it's organized in beginnings, middles, and endings with inspiring themes to weave in such as the Yamas, Niyamas, chakras, deities, elements, and so on. We were practicing yoga nidra body scans tonight, and one of my classmates used a body scan from this book instead of one that our trainer provided. Really good stuff. I'll have to remind myself not to take too many examples from here all at once as I plan my classes. Review: A must have for any yoga teacher’s library! - This was the second book I have purchased by this author. As a Yoga Teacher, I find this book very helpful for inspiring creative sequences, and teaching my classes. This was one of my favorite resources to use in my YTT 200 training. The author thoughtfully weaves themes that can be used in any type of class. I find myself turning to this book time and time again, along with the first book The Language of Yin as a resource for creating my Yoga sequences. To me they are both must haves in my Yoga Teacher library!

Powerful Tool for Yoga Teachers
Wow! This book just arrived to me today and I couldn't wait to open it up and dive in. I only had time for the first chapter before getting ready to go teach a yoga class. Gabrielle Harris' book - The Language of Yin - is (maybe was?) my all-time favorite teaching tool. I use it for reference all the time. The pages are worn and notes have been added. So, I was thrilled to learn about her new book The Inspired Yoga Teacher. Her writing is beautiful. She is clear and concise. She clearly loves yoga and teaching. Go get it! It's so good.

A must own for yoga teachers!
Where had this book been my whole life? I feel like this should be required in every yoga teacher training across the globe. It's wonderfully written and is such an inspiration to me. I've been feeling a little stuck in my teaching and as we start to re-connect with students in real life again, this will be the perfect thought starter for my class plans. Thank you for sharing your light and love of yoga with the world. I never thought I'd find a book that supported my teaching more than the Language of Yin... Then she writes this!! Both books will be by my side for a long time. (Fingers crossed for a Kindle edition as well, so I can really carry it with me!!)

To give you an idea of the tone of this book, the author quotes Cindy Lauper
So you know all those 200 hour yoga teacher trainings that don’t really make yoga teachers but are just to “deepen the student’s practice.”? So this thick book is like that. It seems like a great book for beginners to deepen their own practice but thick enough it would be daunting without a teacher guiding you through it. The sequences are very simple and short. Really this author’s own approach to an asana centered yoga experience. It touches on sun salutation and otherwise no vinyasa. I’m looking for something like power vinyasa sequencing that goes beyond the Baptist’s sequence. Having a hard time finding vinyasa sequencing in general past ashtanga. I’m returning this book.

Truly Inspiring
I have only skimmed the surface of the treasures available to those who teach AND practice yoga, which are made so available in this book. The author has gathered and compiled teachings, asanas, metaphors, ideas, and stories that are artfully woven into this glorious book and teaching guide. Seroiusly, open to any page and prepare for a nugget of gold which can be shared or can enrich personal practice. I acknowledge the true gift that has been offered here to teachers and their students. The format makes the teachings very accessable. This book has become one of my top helpers in my own practice and the style in which I teach.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
I have been a teacher for 5 years and I wish I had this book sooner. I am big on theming and this book is a gem for that. So many ideas and words to describe the themes that are already near and dear to my heart. There is also a theme for every pose. The writer is fabulous and I wish I had the wordage they have for everything they have written. Also has a lot of small fun flows that I have never thought of. I will begin to require this book for my 300hr Teacher Training.

Beautifully inspiring guide to offering authentic yoga practices
After almost 14 years as a yoga teacher, I sometimes find myself struggling to be creative and inspired - to connect to that inner flame of creativity that will help me offer the best to my students. Gabrielle's book has recharged my own personal practice, reconnected me to my creative and curious side, and offered hundreds of ideas that are nourishing, authentic, compassionate, and fully in line with deep yogic principles and a yoga lifestyle. From practices to poses to pranayama to poetry, Gabrielle weaves a tapestry of great beauty that will inspire any yoga teacher and indeed, any yogi, to explore their practice in new and unique ways. I cannot recommend this book enough and will be adding it to my teacher training offerings in the coming years as required reading.

Amazing yoga teacher resource
Amazing book! Lots of interesting themes, sequences, things to say, inspiration for unusual asanas or movements, tips for leading a better yoga class, etc. After 2,5 years of teaching Hatha & Vinyasa yoga and having felt a bit less inspired lately, this was the book I’d been looking for.
