Solsop RJ45 Crimp Tool Pass Through Cat5 Cat5e Cat6 Crimping Tool for RJ45/RJ12 Regular and End-Pass-Through connectors

I bought this at the time as a cheap way to crimp a handful of RJ45's to some cat5 cable I'd bodge up a while ago for my little home network. I expected the worst and was thinking I'd need to return this item. I bought some passthrough RJ45's and together it worked faultlessly and every cable I made or repaired worked, job done and now happy I have a good tool for the future should I need to make more patch leads or ethernet cable repair.

Excellent crimper ,works well every time, l bought a cheaper one let me down time and time, so splashed out and got myself a good one this time, don’t think I will regret it, nor would you if you upgrade.

Tool feels well made and crimps the plugs perfect but does not cut the two outside wires also on closer inspection some of the other wires are not cut clean and are tipping off wires beside them which will cause a short . Have tried the tool a number of times and get the same result every time . Pity it dosnt work properly as I needed it for a job quickly .

Leaves 1-2 pins uncrimped and doesn't cut cleanly - unfortunately found out after the return period.

unfortunately this item doesnt work properly. the RJ45 connector slot jams and the crimpers do not open. I had to take the blade out to get the RJ45 out. Worked great for about 3 days and then jams. Not a gud buy.

Having to return this as it doesn’t work. It fails to cut both outer cables so I had to make sure I had my snips with me. Defeats the object

This crimping tool must be one of the best value for money ever.

I bought this because I wanted to have one that trim off cable ends in pass-through connectors. I was very disappointed when I tried my first connector. The blade that cuts off the leads does not sit flush to the front of the connector resulting that there is 0.5-1mm cabe sticking out. This make it so that the plug touch the end of the female RJ45 connector and the clip does not really snap. Another thing is that the blade that trim off the leads goes 1mm into the plastic edge right beneath where the leads go out from the connector. This make a piece of plastic bend out from the connector which just makes the above mentioned problem worse. A third problem is that the strip blade goes too far into the cable, damaging the leads. I have made hundreds of crimps with my old Knipex brand crimper, that never failed unless I screwed up and accidentally put the leads in the wrong position. When I did my first crimp with this one, it did not work. I checked with a cable tester and lead #3 was not connected properly. I re-crimped with my old one and it worked immediatley first time, like usual. I rather keep the old one and trim off the leads with a fine electronics wire cutter. I use quality brand connectors so they are following the standardized dimensions on this type of connector, so it is not the connectors that are out of standard.

This tool was designed by someone who actually uses this network connector crimper. This tool is, by far, an excellent buy for its features. It was slightly too high on one side, which tended to nick the insulation of the individual wires on that side. The design uses two screws for that blade to allow adjusting it to be parallel with the upper blade. The blade guard was removed, loosened the two screws holding the bottom blade, adjusted the blade, tightened the blade screws, and replaced the blade guard. The upper blade for cutting and stripping is also secured with two screws to allow adjusting it as well. This blade needed no adjustment. I am very pleased with this purchase. A well-made, comprehensive tool that works well and will last.

The crimping tool is made of strong metal parts with plastic handles that feel quite comfortable as you grip the tool in your hand. All aspects of the tool performs very well, from the cutting component to the crimping part. I have made a number of crimps and I am quite satisfied with how the tool worked.
