I mounted this inside an wall outlet to monitor power usage of a PC. Initially, it would not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi after a grid power failure. The only way to reconnect, was to open the wall outlet and push the reset button on the Sonoff. But, the latest firmware update seems to have fixed this issue and it's been working great. I use this Home Assistant.

I used this product for controlling electric heat relays and it works great. The control software is easy to use and integrates with many of the popular home automation systems. I have used SONOFF products for several years in many different applications and have had no issues.

Great device I use it to control the curtains at home; 1- To open/close as needed 2- Close all curtains when I go out in one button 3- Timers; like to open bedrooms curtains (partially) with the alarm. Also close them in the evening I didn't need to call the support nor did I use it with Alexa (so far) so I can't rate it The only improvement I would like to see if they can reduce the "thickness" of the device as in Jordan (where I used them) the electric boxes are smaller and it is hard t place them inside (I had to add depth or install the device by the curtain motor (in the over windows boxes), but this should not be an issue in USA/Canada and Europe

It is a great improvement over the R2, which itself is great and I have a dozen or so of. Back in Nov 2020 I sent itead a feature request to use the ESP32 so that OTA upgrades could be done(check), make it a bit smaller to work in their IP66 waterproof box(check), and add the ability to access more of the GPIO pins on the ESP32 (sadly, no check mark here). Although the case has a bit of glue on the 4 tabs holding it together, it can still be hacked by opening, soldering leads to the TX/RX/GND/3V3 pins and pressing the button when powering up. I only used it for a few minutes with stock software, but after adding to eWeLink, Alexa recognized it and I switched it out of blinds mode to regular mode. and played for a minute... then I cracked it open, connected up a CH340 USB dongle, and wrote some custom firmware to it and was able to use the following: GPIO27 relay1 GPIO14 relay2 GPIO13 status_led GPIO0 button GPIO32 switch 1 GPIO33 switch 2 I would give it 5 stars if they made the other GPIO accessible via pin-pads or thru-holes: 1-wire and reset GPIO 5 SPI for RTD amplifier: GPIO 18 GPIO 19 GPIO 23 CS for RTD amplifier GPIO 12 GPIO 15 GPIO 25 GPIO 35

First SONOFF device in my smart home. All of my previous devices were SmartLife App compatible. So I needed to install a new app to manage this. This little device in addition to controlling my shutter motor also is monitoring energy usage. So I now have a way to know how much operating my shutter cost for me. I bought one, but I'm ready to buy the rest to control all of my shutters.

Der Smart Wlan Schalter SONOFF DUAL R3 ist ein sehr universeller 2-Kanalschalter. Der WLAN-Schalter wird im Standard mit der App eWeLink betrieben, kann aber auch umprogrammiert werden auf Tasmaota, was einiger Erfahrung bedarf und die Möglichkeit zu löten. Der Schalter kann als Garagentoransteuerung, Rolladenschalter oder als 2-Kanal Lichtschalter verwendet werden. So ist der Schalter sehr universell einsetzbar. Für meine Hausautomation programmiere ich schon lange die Tonoff-Schalter mit Tasmota auf meine Bedürfnisse um. Die Schulleitung ist für 230Vausgelegt und liegt je nach Lastart zwischen 1 und 10A (1A-induktiv/kapazitiv un 10A rein ohmsche Last). Die Bilder zeigen die Standards in eWeLink. Durch die Bluetoothverbindung geht das Auffinden sehr schnell. Die anschließende Einbindung in das WLAN geht dann fast wie von selbst. Sehr gute Qualität und sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis für diesen kompakten und universellen 2-Kanal Schalter = 5 Sterne

One of the few dual switch in the market that can be connected to existing curtain manual switches such as Norisys and at the same time to wifi for automation with Alexa providing full Alexa functionality. The motor auto calibrates and then Alexa Voice command can have blinds Open in percentage terms eg 30%, 70% etc. After returning 2 other brand switches finally got this feature running on Sonoff! Super cool. Blinds can now be automated to open on sunrise, close partially at sunset and completely close at given time. Dismissing Alexa alarm in morning can be automated to have the blinds open 50% for gentle sunlight waking up. Works great!

It didn’t matter for my application but a warning to anyone. The Dual R3 has two different power measurement chipsets depending on the PCB version. I purchased from in Jan 2025 and received a v1.x (I think 1.6) PCB with the older chip. It is also a bit more complicated to flash with your chosen firmware because it doesn’t support diy mode. Hardware is great, 2 external switch inputs, 2 outputs, status led’s and a button, all in a neat package. UPDATE: Seller communicated well when I highlighted the version discrepancy and offered a refund as a gesture. In most cases it doesn’t matter which version you receive unless power monitoring is your prime reason for purchasing.
