Q: Has anyone used this successfully with different tape, like Command strips?

I haven’t used it on these hooks ,but I’ve used 3M 15 lb. Transparent Tape with similar towel racks. Command strips should work too.

Q: If these need to be removed for whatever reason do they damage the tile and come off with a little elbow power?

I haven’t had to remove anything yet using the 3M tape. Usually on tile a little heat from a hair dryer and fishing line loosens and softens the tape for removal.

If you need to remove the product, you can use a hair dryer to heat the base, then you can easily remove it without damaging the tile.

Q: How can I remove the sticky residue from glass? I had to move one. Used hair dryer to remove hook but glass has thick residue I can't scrape off

Spray residue with WD-40 then use a soft cloth in a circular motion over the area to lift up the stickiness. If this leaves a smear, use Dawn to remove the WD-40 grease.
