For a small yard, this is great!
We have a small lake house and I wanted something I could store in the house when not in use since it has no garage. I thought I'd try battery powered as I didn't feel comfortable storing gas in the house. I've had this a couple of months now and can report it is working great! I will tell you the one flaw which is if it hits any bumps in the yard, the battery can pop loose. At first, I debated returning the unit as defective but think maybe it is a safety to prevent damage to the blade. Now that I've used it many times, I realize that limitation and am just careful when I go over bumps and it is not a problem. If your yard is very rough with a lot of rocky areas, this might be a problem for you but if you have a normal yard, it will not be a problem. The mower runs about 20-30mins on a charge. It has two speeds so if the grass is really long and it has to bump up to high speed, the run time will be about 20mins. On normal speed, you will get 30mins. IT is enough time for me to mow the yard when running normal speed but if I procrastinate and let the grass get long where it is always running in high speed, it isn't quite enough to mow it all. Our yard is about 60 feet wide so on the smallish side. Mower cuts grass really neatly btw. No gas and the charging is super simple as well. Works like the dewalt chargers if you are familiar with those. The mower does have folding handle which is nice since I store it inside after each use. I like the large wheels as they make it easy to roll up and down the stairs to the house. Adjustment for cut height is also a simple one handle deal but Ieave it on the same cut height every time so no issue there. Can't think of anything else to say other than I really like it. A second battery would be smart if you have a large yard as battery charging takes a couple hours. I am very happy with the purchase so far.

Little Dynamo Slays the Day
I’ve used this mower twice and it works really well. Cuts grass as easily as my prior B&D but is so much less heavy which is due to the smaller size battery and the chassis being metal vs the heavy plastic/vinyl of my old machine. I read one comment that compares this mower to a toy and I can understand that now after using it since it is very lightweight for a mower. That may bother a big stronger person in utilizing it but for an old lady with back issues it’s the perfect size/weight to maneuver around. The mower does an excellent job cutting grass & it’s more compact than my older mower which I had to trash bc the battery no longer charged. I have a 75x100 lot so rather small but still enough to need a decent mower. You can’t beat battery powered lawn tools for personal use. No gas, oil, or spark plugs to worry about & no gas fumes! There are only two negatives so far: 1) it’s a bit difficult to push in the battery as it tends to not click in on the first push 2) one battery charge doesn’t quite last to complete both my back & front yards like my older mower but for me that’s not a problem as I usually do only one area on one day then do the other side another day. Actually there is one other thing the manufacturer can improve is in securing the battery & charger inside the lawnmower box. Both items were wrapped, the battery in bubble wrap; the charger I believe was in a small box but both were just loose in the larger mower box and could have been easily damaged in transit, especially the battery. I’ve included some photos of my back yard to show the area after cutting & the mower. Good price too for what it can do. The battery is my favorite feature as I can hold it in one hand! My old mower I could barely lift the battery out to get it charged it was so huge & heavy. I’m cruising now.

Two batteries please.
As a previous Toro gas mower user this Greenworks electric mower was surprisingly pleasant to operate. I knew when my gas powered mower died I was not going back to high priced gas mowers with a ton of maintenance comparatively speaking. The only down side is the battery life. I had to order a back up battery to complete my front and back yard in a single cut versus waiting until a full charge from the single 40 volt battery. In all this is an outstanding product.

Really poor quality lawnmower construction - piece of garbage
Buyer Beware! I ordered and received the Greenworks lawnmower in Nov. 2023. I used it once to mow my lawn in Nov. before storing it away for the winter (I live in the Chicagoland area). In Apr. 2024, I was able to mow about a quarter of my yard before the lawnmower quit. This was my second time using the lawnmower. After removing the outside housing, I saw a frayed and separated wire so the lawn mower will no longer start. Pretty poor quality for the second time ever using it to mow my lawn. I called Greenworks and, after staying on hold for an hour, they sent a new lawnmower as a replacement. This lawn mower is also poorly constructed and the lever for the mowing height will not slot - see video. You can move the lever into the slot, but it will not stay slotted. This is straight out of the box as I was assembling the lawn mower. I called Greenworks and was on hold for 1.5 hours. They asked me to send them the video and said they would call back the next day. They never called back. So, after waiting a day, I called them. After another 1.5 hours on hold, they answered and acknowledged they received the video. They argued about the video - I couldn't believe it! They said I needed to use both hands and force the lever somehow to slot. Unbelievable! They finally agreed the lever would not slot and offered to send a second replacement lawn mower (which would be my third). Geez, this lawn mower is a piece of garbage. I don't need a third lawn mower that won't work so I declined. After receiving 2 lawn mowers, I don't need a third non-functioning lawn mower that won't work out of the box, or, if it did, would not last past one or two lawn mowings. It is really poor construction.

I love this mower!
I freaking love this mower! This is my first electric mower, and honestly, it's a game changer. I bought it because my gas mower wouldn't start, and I didn't want to put it in my car to take it to the repair shop. Best decision ever. It's so lightweight I can mow with one hand! It's super easy to maneuver and starts with the push of a button, so no more yanking cords or dealing with gas. The battery life is good, but I had to get a second battery because my yard is pretty big. The brushless motor is much quieter than a gas mower. The cut is clean, height adjustment is easy, and the high wheels make it glide over uneven spots like a dream. If you're tired of loud, heavy, gas-powered mowers and want something efficient and low maintenance, this is it. I didn't expect to be this excited about a mower, but I truly love this thing!

🔋 Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Mower: The Ultimate Campsite Game-Changer
🏡 Campsite & Storage Solution Purchasing the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower for my permanent campsite was a game-changer. The two major advantages of this unit—ease of use and storage ability—make it uniquely suited for the RV/campsite life. Compact Storage: The handles fold up completely, allowing the entire unit to be stored vertically. This feature alone is worth the investment, as it takes up minimal space in a shed, small garage, or even a tight utility corner, which is essential when dealing with limited campsite storage. Zero Maintenance: With no gas, oil, or spark plugs, there is no risk of spills, fumes, or the typical maintenance hassles of a gas mower. This makes it quick to start, quick to put away, and keeps the storage area clean. ⚡ Battery Performance and the Half-Acre Cut My property is approximately 0.5 acres, which is often the boundary where battery mowers can struggle, but the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower handled it admirably. Single Battery Test: I found that the included 4.0Ah battery was consistently capable of tackling the majority of the lawn on a single charge. This aligns perfectly with reviews that suggest this model is ideal for up to 1/3 or 1/2 acre under normal conditions. The Second Battery Solution: To comfortably cut the entire 0.5 acres without rushing or worrying, the purchase of a second battery was a smart move. This gives the necessary runtime to handle slightly longer or thicker sections of grass and ensures the job is finished in one session. This is the recommended approach for any yard bordering on a half-acre. 🤫 Operation & Build Quiet and Convenient: The quiet operation is a huge plus, especially at a campground where you don't want to disrupt neighbors with engine noise. I could mow early or late without being a nuisance. The push-button start is instant and reliable every time. Brushless Power: The brushless motor delivers plenty of torque for an electric push mower. While it’s not a powerhouse built for overgrown jungle grass, it efficiently and cleanly cuts a regularly maintained lawn. The 19-inch steel deck feels durable and capable of standing up to regular use. ⭐ Final Verdict For anyone needing a reliable, powerful, and, most importantly, easy-to-store solution for a medium-sized lawn (especially for a remote location like a campsite), the Greenworks 40V 19" Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower is an outstanding investment. The decision to add a second battery for the 0.5-acre lot turns it into a perfectly capable, gas-free machine.

Good mower if you’re not in a hurry
Edit: I’m lowering my score from 4 to 3 stars because the battery takes much longer to charge than indicated. Each charge has taken more time. The first time was a hour. The next charge took 90 minutes. I mowed this morning and drained the battery. It has been two hours since I put it on the charger and it’s only 3/4 charged. That’s a pretty big difference and I’ve only charged it three times. Another battery would make sense but they’re expensive. However, these pluses still make me recommend it. I’ve always used gas mowers but have found them more difficult to use since getting older (67 year old woman). I live alone now so there’s no one to hold the gas can driving home from the service station. Pulling the chord repeatedly is getting tougher and I just ruined my last mower by putting way too much oil in. This mower is so much easier to use. Put in the battery, push a button, lift up the bar and I’m good to go. It’s easier to push because it weighs a lot less and is not nearly as loud. Changing the cut level is a breeze because you only have to do it with one handle. This mower cuts as well as my gas mower and is easier to maneuver. There are a couple of downsides besides the slow charging. This mower is narrower so you won’t cover as much ground which requires more time. Sometimes the battery can be a bit difficult to get in because you have to push hard to get it to snap into place. Again, the benefits outweigh the negatives.

Cutting Edge Performance
I'm thrilled with my Greenworks Lawn Mower! The difference it's made in my lawn care routine is remarkable. Compared to my old non-powered rotary mower, this battery-powered beast is a breath of fresh air. Assembly was a breeze, and the quiet operation is a welcome surprise. The battery provides ample power to tackle my lawn with ease, leaving a uniform cut that looks fantastic. I appreciate the speed and efficiency it offers, making lawn care a much less demanding task. While I did encounter some issues with the side discharge chute, it wasn't a crucial feature for me, and the mower performs flawlessly without it. The rechargeable battery is a huge plus, making me feel more eco-friendly and cost-effective in the long run. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend the Greenworks 40V Brushless Lawn Mower to anyone seeking a powerful, quiet, and efficient lawn care solution.
