Clarks Women's Desert Boots

These boots were exactly what I was looking for. I read the mixed reviews before ordering them but I liked the way they looked so much I decided that I'd have to judge for myself. Upon receiving them, I placed one on my foot and immediately knew they were not for me. The length was fine, but the top of the boot was too tight across the top of my foot. If you look at the picture of the boot, you'll notice that that the back heel panel looks like it isn't straight extending up from the sole, but rather diagonal, towards your foot and leg. That's what it felt like, too. It was too tight on my heel and back of my leg. I sent them back right away. Wish they had worked!

Normally I wear UK size 5/EU size 38 (corresponding to US size 7 on the size chart of Clarks UK website). The size information from Amazon is slightly different, size 7.5=EU size 38. I thought I probably should trust Clarks, and knowing that this style always goes narrow and customer should go half size up, I finally chose US 7.5 on Amazon and It perfectly fit!I love the look, color, and texture. And it is so comfortable to stand/walk in them for very long time without any heel pain.Note: if you have really wide feet, you probably should think twice about this boot. It is a narrow design.

Although the shoe looks very well made I can't really write a review on its comfort and durability because it very small. I believe it was either mis labeled or they run extremely small, had to return them. I'm so disappointed.

Many people that review this shoes say that it has no arch support. That's probably accurate. But, even more than the shoe not having any arch support the sole of the shoe, which looks rather comfortable and substantial feels almost non-existent. This shoe remind me of wearing a ballet flat. You feel as thought there is little between your foot and the ground. It's hard to tell if the sole of the shoe is just that flat and stiff or if it's really so thin that your foot has that much contact with the ground.It's a comfortable design. I have a very narrow foot and it seems to work well for me. The lack of arch support initially makes the shoe feel a bit shorter in length, but I ordered my true size and it's worked out so far. They took some getting used to and even thought they're suede and not leather they still required a bit of breaking in. The more I wear them the more comfortable they seem to be. They look really amazing with a pair of straight jeans. The toe is slightly more pointy than I was expecting. It's not a completely round toe. Overall not a bad shoe, but if you're really looking for a comfort shoe this probably is not your best best. It's casual for sure and has some elements of comfort.

I don't know about other people's sizing issues, but the pair I got were marked women's 38/US8. I've often found that a 38 is too small for my solidly US8 feet-- this was the case. Good width but too short. I'm going to try the 8.5 and see if it makes a difference.

I have always considered Clark's to be among the best as far as comfort. Upon receiving these Desert boots, I was greatly disappointed. There was not the usual cushiony softness or the arch support. I teach and am on my feet all day. I would not have been able to wear these all day. there is NO support at all, whatsoever!

But if you have wide feet then it fits just right and not good to wear thick socks. Although the leather will soften once worn in. The design is beautiful and elegant for jeans and casual wear and a nice change for boots. Love the color and well made. Very happy.

Returned because they were much too narrow at the ball of the foot, as other people have mentioned. They may have stretched some with wearing, but I doubted it would be enough. Didn't replace with the next size up because I was worried they would be longer but not much wider.
