St. Joseph New Catholic Bible (Gift Edition - Personal Size)

I've got quite a few different versions of the bible, but this is probably one of my favourites , it's a lot easier to read than most . This bible also contains so much more and is a beautiful presentation.

This is a wonderful Bible. Although it’s not categorised as a study Bible, I find it just as insightful and in a way less overwhelming, it gets straight to the point which I love. With amazing pictures and explanations it really gives you a deeper understanding of the precious meanings of the books within the Bible. It’s beautifully bound, excellent quality, blows the socks of all my others including the overrated hosanna revival bible which I was very disappointed with. If you’re looking for a Catholic Bible or any bible, I can’t fault this one it’s absolutely wonderful. Seller was excellent too. Thank you!

Beautiful bible the layout is stunning however the cover appears to be some kind of soft plastic can’t believe it’s leather as advertised as leather-bound. Perhaps the publisher can verify. Apparently the publisher states duralux

I LOVE this Bible!! I had a priest recommend the NCB. I hadn't heard of it. It has lots of crossreferences and study material. It's cover is beautiful. It contains many Catholic devotions like the Stations of the Cross and Rosary. I love the translation. There's many maps, tables, etc. This is medium size so the print is small. I see they make a large print Bible too.

All of us who are Roman Catholic are aware that we have relatively few options for complete Bibles, though fortunately the ESV Apocrypha are now available. There are still unfortunately no premium choices. I purchased this New Catholic Bible translation after getting the New Testament translation out of curiosity. For the $40 I paid here for it, it's a great buy. First, it's Smyth-sewn rather than glued like so many inexpensive Bibles. How Bible makers resolve making self-destructing Bibles with their conscience is beyond me. Second, there are many, many aids for those new to Christianity and Catholicism. The Rosary is included here, as are the Stations of the Cross. There are timelines, great reference phrases and beautiful line drawings of old cities as well as some black and white photos. lMy taste does run to Bibles costing four and five times this--but this Bible remains a great buy. Sadly, it is made in China, whereas the NT is from India. The fake leather on these new Bibles is exponentially better than what I found a half century ago.

This is by far the most beautiful Bible I’ve ever owned!! It is full of information and little highlights that you had no idea you needed! And the pictures that they added are beautiful! There’s information and illustrations of how to pray the rosary, the stations of the cross and so much other information that I’ve never seen included in a Bible! I’m trying to think of other people that I can give this as a gift to because I just love it so much!

This Bible is constructed of very high quality paper. The covers are simulated leather and are quite nice. This Bible has many maps, photographs, and illustrations as well as copious amounts of references. I am not qualified to criticize the accuracy or reliability of the translation, but it seems pretty good to me. I have read that the translators have refrained from attempts to modernize the scriptures with inclusive language. So far, I have not seen anything that I would consider offensive to traditionally minded readers. I say this as being a big fan of the Douay Rheims version of the Catholic Bible. The book is a bit heavy. The print is a decent size but not to be considered as large print. I love that the words of Christ are in red. All in all, a nice addition to anyones Bible collection. I highly recommend it.

This is my favorite Bible. So well made. Excellent quality. The words don't bleed thru. A big plus The wording is easily read and understand. The notes have a bit to be desired as far as finding them. There are footnotes on the bottom of the page. However there are others that have for example kings 1:5. I have to turn from Solomon to go to Kings for the ft notes. And further reading. Doesn't have as many footnotes as I would like tho. Not a good study bible as far as the amount of footnotes Still this is my favorite Bible for reading. There are lots of nice features. Maps. Timelines. The 7 cities mentioned in revelations. Jesus parables are listed on study page telling you where to find them Jesus miracles and where to find them. Old testament timelines. Lots of good stuff throughout. They are found in sections with special paper making them easy to find scattered between books of the bible. All in all I love this edition.
