7-19-2024 UPDATE: After a brutal summer here in the Las Vegas desert, I have changed by Overall Rating to "5 stars." This product has stood the challenge after approximately one year of scrotching weather. Still looks as good as new and I have not had to add any additional air to the float since it was first placed in the pool and the solar light is still working fine. I am surprised on just how well this product has done. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOW “UPDATE: After posting my review, a representative of BluFree provided me with an upgraded chlorine dispenser at no cost to me to see if this would resolve my issues with their product. So, here is what I think about the new dispenser – the bottom portion, or the place which holds the tablets, is much studier than the first one I purchased, it feels very solid. However, what I do not like is the upper portion of the dispenser, which is made of an inflatable PVC material – do not know how well it will hold up here in the Las Vegas desert. That is the problem, only time will tell if this item lasts before the sun disintegrates the material. The solar aspect of the product is an extra bonus and cute, but not something that is necessary to do the job. What would be nice if they used the same bottom portion on their other floating chlorinator without the solar option. Finally, I do give high marks to BluFree for reaching out to me and providing an alternative solution to my concerns. For that alone, I would recommend this company and the products they sell. Now let us see how well this holds up next summer here in Las Vegas.” Expensive and not as sturdy as other dispensers I have purchased in the past. Material used to hold the chlorine tabs does not appear/feel to be very strong but will have to wait and see how it holds up over the next year. Can be a little bit of pain/difficult to screw the head back on to the dispenser - have to line-up the threads perfectly so the top will screw on. We needed to get this type of dispenser for its height to avoid the dispenser getting struck inside the BetaBot Pool Cleaner - otherwise we would have continue to use the standard size dispenser.

Have the turtle model. Good value but it has some issues: 1. Takes in water and sinks. Happened after 8 months for me. Difficult to get the water out of the tiny hole on the head. Needs to be sealed better. 2. Fades in sunlight. Needs uv protection. 3. The container section is very long of you are using only one chlorine tablet. Needs to be adjustable, especially for water fountains.

Cute but dropped it once and you will have a broken floaty. I thought it was my kids - then I dropped it from waist height and bam. Broken again. This is our third one.

I had bought the hard plastic turtle initially but had an issue with it sinking, the company reached out to me and offered me an upgraded replacement to their new inflatable solar powered version, which was a nice surprise, I figured they'd just send another turtle. I've had the flamingo for a while now and it has been working well, no issues with sinking or staying inflated. 5 stars.

Looks good and works great

This is a great addition to my above ground pool. It floats around the pool and the pucks can be set how fast they dissolve. I'm very happy with my turtle chlorinater.

I used this little guy “Bluey”, as we named him, when our sanitizer went in our pool pump. He does the job he needs to with sanitizer pucks. I fit 4, 3” pucks in him. The only negative I would say is that he fades a bit from the pool water chlorine and the sun, but not a huge deal unless you’re big on aesthetics
