COBI 5811 Top Gun Building Blocks, Gray

Amazing set, the swing wing is awesome, everything is great with it. The only pet peeves I have with it are: The cockpit flying open when upside down (something about gravity idk), and the engine intakes being quite fragile and a pain to rebuild if a bit does break off (thinking about it you can remove the whole sub assembly so not too bad). Other than that it's an amazing set and those are tiny issues. The set is massive and uses some surprising techniques.

Beautiful model, my 8 year old is a fan of cobi tanks but this is our first aircraft and we want more! The finished model has a real likeness to the actual aircraft and can be mistaken for a plastic kit rather than brick built model. It’s a good size too. The quality of the kit is par with Lego and the details like adjustable wing sweep and moving wing surfaces make it fun too. Trouble is I don’t want him to play with it! Only some minor niggles are that the stand is a bit wobbly with the weight of the model, the nose cone comes off a bit too easily, and I wish the wing sweep mechanism connected them both together rather than individually. My son wanted the nose gear to be retractable. All in all a really nice model which impressed us greatly.

Bought as a birthday gift for a friend who is a huge fan of the F14 Tomcat and of Lego so they were very happy with this. Quality, fit and finish of the bricks id just as good as the main brand and the model is quite sizable and sturdy when complete. Cobi is not just another "knock off", their models are fully licenced, well detailed and they produce kits of a subject matter that Lego simply won't tough being mainly military equipment. There are no stickers to mess around with, all parts that require detail are printed and look so much better for it, They are generally cheaper than the main brand so offer better value for money too. Fantastic kits that any military/aircraft enthusiast would enjoy.

I’m more used to Lego Technic so thought the instructions could be a tiny bit clearer/more intuitive but they do the job. The pieces are a bit smaller and so a bit fiddly. Also, there are a lot of pieces that look VERY similar which other reviews have mentioned, so you do really need to pay attention. The assembly seems to involve building a lot of flat layers over each other, repeatedly. Nothing wrong with that, but again, if you’re used to Technic you might find it a bit dull. Trying to get the figures into the cockpit and close the canopy was the biggest pain of all. Having said all that, the model looks great when finished. From a distance you can’t even tell it’s made of bricks. I think it’s worth the price and the quality is very good. Cobi aren’t a cheap Lego knockoff brand.

Such a good kit. This was great for my son who loves Top Gun - the kit is a tricky build but it looks fantastic when finished.

I'm almost 50 and really liked building this kit (despite a lot of grey bricks) and it looks great on its' stand on the shelf. Also built the Cobi B17 and smaller 2556 Tiger 1 and very much enjoyed all of them. Only 2 issues : 1. the pilot oxygen tubes are quite stiff and kept making the pilot figures leap out of the seats - I glued both pilots to their seats to fix this (so no post-mission celebrations / push-ups for these 2 aviators). 2. I would have preferred Rooster in the rear seat as it's a TG-Maverick tie-in, but this really is a very minor nit-pick indeed. Love COBI (but I really wish 2801 was a bit cheaper!)

Schönes Model, macht sich gut im Regal. Wäre stabil genug, damit auch zu spielen, dafür ist es mir aber zu schade. Steinequalität ist einfach top. Halten sehr gut zusammen. Keinerlei Farbabweichungen und alles bedruckt. Über die Figuren kann man streiten, ich glaube einfach nur, dass ich und viele andere, hier die Lego typischen Figuren zu gewohnt sind, um die COBI Figuren wirklich gut zu finden. Aber es gibt nichts objektives an den Figuren auszusetzen. Selbst wenn man den Preis für original Legofiguren oben drauf rechnet, ist das Set immer noch besser und günstiger, als alles was Lego zu bieten hätte.

Qualité exceptionnelle pour un set qui n’est pas de la célèbre marque. Il n’a manqué aucune pièce, les ajustements sont parfaits et le rendu fini est magnifique. Monté en 3 heures environ, sans se presser. Lunettes pour vision de près recommandées pour les moins jeunes..! 👍🏻

La calidad de los bloques es muy similar a la de LEGO, diría que igual o mejor, y de verdad me impresiona. Tiene una gran facilidad de armado para gente con más experiencia armando sets. Detalles de las figuras y del set en general son increíbles, más siendo fan de los aviones y de las películas de Top Gun. Ya tiene tiempo que lo compré y a pesar del polvo y otros contratiempos el material es muy resistente y durable. Por la cantidad de detalles que lleva, el precio y la calidad vale mucho la pena para uso personal o regalo.

Aereo stupendo da costruire! Istruzioni molto chiare, il tutto è diviso in sacchetti, per chi è fan di Top Gun come me lo consiglio!
