hi! is it possible to turn off the sound/remove batteries easily to turn off sound in case we get tired of it making noise? thanks!

There is no on/off button to stop the sound. You can just unscrew the case where the batteries are ( which if memory serves me correctly requires an annoyingly small screwdriver) and take them out. My boyfriend and myself personally never found the sounds to be annoying. If you're child is not at the reading level yet, the sound will help in memorization of the numbers and the items under them. Hope this helps!

Are the double digit numbers like 11, 12... made of one piece or two pieces?
