would these work with sony mdrrf985rk wireless rf headphone

Must purchase special adapter from William Sound to use other manufacturers earphones. Your Sony headphone will only have audio to one side only without the adapter. Purchase the adapter and enjoy nicer sounding headphones.

Does this work for live theater?

The Pocketalker is basically a "glorified" microphone...so it will pick up any sound...you'll hear live theater "louder", but you might also hear more background noises than you would prefer. An FM Transmitter/Receiver system is best for live theater if you can get the Transmitter mic. close enough to the stage.
