How wide are the "nibbles" made by this thing?

The tool makes a nibble that is about 1/8 inch wide. It is great for small adjustments of your work, and is very easy to use. recommended only for small jobs.

Are there more narrow versions available? I need to cut 1/16" and 1/8" wide slots.

DO NOT GRIND AWAY PART OF THE MOVING CUTTER. This will not work. The non-moving part of the tool is also part of the cutter. If the moving part of the cutter is reduced in size, the material will not be cut and will just bend over without fully cutting it off. You then need to use a Dremel tool to rescue your material from the nibbler...

how wide does the jaw open? I want to cut a plastic fan case to install a toggle switch. I dont want the mess of a dremel, file, or grinder.

This thing works like a champ for cutting thin sheet metal. I've tried several nibblers and this is my favorite. That said, I don't know how well it would work for what you want to do. Dunno about plastic. I measured the jaw opening at 1.89mm.

will it work on 24G stainless steel sheet edge?

I DO NOT THINK IT WILL WORK. TOOL IS GOOD ON ALUM. TO PRODUCE SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR HOLES. THIS CUTS SMALL NOTCHES OUT OF THE METAL. IT IS DIFFICULT TO MAKE A STRAIGHT EDGE.

Ich knipse damit, an den Bundenden, Kerben in Edelstahl -Bunddraht; funktioniert super. Ich musste allerdings, vorher, einen kleinen Schlitz in die Kopfplatte feilen, damit es passt. Günstiger bekommt man keinen Fret-Tang-Nipper.
