Natural Matte Cream

I recently tried the LAYRITE Men's Styling Hair Cream, and overall, I'm impressed with its performance. This is one of my favorite hair products! Great hold washes out very easily and smells amazing! Except I just recently went through TSA with it unopened and they made me scoop a bunch of it out before I went through security. It’s a good product but can’t travel with this container unless you’ve used a lot of of it lol

Updated review- So as my first review said this is a great product with a nice medium hold. But more of a soft medium hold . It allows you to style your hair in any way and most importantly it is a matte finish. In my opinion it leaves a very light shine but it makes it look more natural and not like the life was sucked out of your hair. It takes a bit to fully set and "dry" but it may be because I have low perosity hair. I have let my hair grow out more than usual and I am letting my curly hair do it's thing instead of keeping it short and just styling it back. My hair is about 3 to 4 inches long on top and I have 3A curls . I gave this a shot after not using for a while with my longer hair. I have to say I am very surprised by the results. I was expecting this to weigh down my hair but to my surprise it didn't. I apply it to semi damp hair from root to end . Style it, which for me is to light scrunch and lift and just let it air dry. It keeps the curls in place, soft, no frizz, doesn't dry, not greasy. And most importantly it washes off easily with water. My daughter with very thick dense wavy hair uses it too and it works great as well.

Before I started clicking my hair back into pomadours, quiffs, and whatever, I went for dry, textured styles and used wax products like Gatsby Moving Rubber Air Rise and Gatsby Matte Wax. After switching to pomade, I missed the more "natural" look, but I still wanted to look more grown up and I liked the restylability of pomade. Outside of the usual oil and water based pomades I typically use (Shear Revival Crystal Lake, Nostalgic Handmade Firm Hold, and more) I also tried products like Imperial Matte Pomade, Mister Pomadour Beeswax Paste, Baxter Clay Pomade, Shear REvival American Gardens, and Lockhart's Matte Clay to try to make my hair as natural looking as possible, but still easily combed back with strong hold. While I like some of these products, especially Lockhart's, I didn't get the right combination of comb-ability, natural-ality, and strength. Until now. Layrite Natural Matte Cream does wonders. I can slick my hair back, but if I want to go for a more dry and textured look, I just need to run my fingers through my hair a few times and it'll retain the hold and my hair doesn't look stupidly messy. It has a vanilla scent and it's really soft and easy to scoop; it feels just like lotion. I was initially debating between getting this or Layrite Cement Matte Hair Clay, but I'm glad I got this. I never used that one either, but it seems like it's more focused on getting you strong hold while Natural Matte Cream is more focused on flexibility and light-ness. And to be honest, I was more drawn in by the packaging of this product than the Cement. It just looked cleaner and more professional. The packaging won't disappoint. That's a guarantee. Overall, if you want a matte look when styled, but don't want to worry about your hair falling apart when you mess it up with your hands a bit, Layrite Natural Matte Cream is great. It won't grease your hair up if that's what you're looking for, but it can function similar to a medium hold pomade, clay, or wax. Take your pick.

4 stars because of the price; expensive IMO. Buy it :-) ... Natural Matte Cream version, blue label. Other than price, this is a fantastic product. It's not sticky or greasy, truly is matte in texture, goes on cleanly, holds hair extremely well, washes off easily, has a nice but not overpowering fragrance, and does not leave any residue (like the Suavecito brand does). Even though this hair product is pricey, I will keep buying it if the price does not go up any more.

I wanted to find a quality hair product that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I have tried matte clays/creams/pastes that were twice the price and I will continue to purchase Layrite in the future. This is fantastic value for the money and I love how it styles. I simply apply a small amount to my slightly damp hair and I am able to style it with my hands. It does not provide a super strong hold and does not make my hair shiny (which is exactly what I want). I am still able to run my hands through my hair and the hold lasts all day. As it says on the container, the dryer your hair is when you apply it, the stronger the hold, so I like that you have some control over it. I also really like how it smells - a light cream soda scent. Overall, this is a great product that I will continue to use.

easy to apply, smooth consistency

Great hold for my light wavy hair. I use it when I want a natural slicked back look, like slicked but not grassy or hardly slicked. It’s easy to get off from hair. Doesn’t cause buildup. Though be careful using it on thin areas as it could be harsh on them. And the smell is amazing!

Ho aspettato qualche giorno prima di rilasciare il feedback, provando la pomade e testandola nei giorni caldi di agosto. Premetto che ho provato quasi tutte le pomade migliori tra cui Reuzel e Despacito su tutte (che vanno rispettivamente al secondo e terzo posto della mia classifica personale). Il contenitore della pomade è molto bello esteticamente con il barattolo bianco, etichetta blu e tappo dorato. Quando l'ho aperto ho per prima cosa sentito la profumazione alla vaniglia, buono ma non forte e marcato come letto in altre recensioni.. Dopodiché ho passato il dito sulla pomade per prenderne una quantità pari a una nocciolina... Ho deciso di provare con poco e vedere che effetto ottenevo... Non appena l'ho passata sui capelli (media lunghezza, non corti ma nemmeno lunghi) ho notato subito la morbidezza e la possibilità di ripassare la pettinatura senza che la pomade si asciughi subito (cosa che compromette lo style). L'effetto matte è perfetto, così come la tenuta che nel mio caso dura 24 ore senza problemi (da sera a sera, messa prima di andare a letto). Non avevo mai provato una pomade così unica e speciale, perché permette anche di rimettere apposto il look durante la giornata se necessario, si lava via benissimo essendo a base d'acqua e non ingrassa cute e capelli. Dopo una settimana di utilizzo posso solo dire una cosa: MA PERCHÉ NON L'HO SCOPERTA PRIMA???? Complimenti Layrite, qualità ottima ad un prezzo equo!

This is a fantastic product, and believe me I have tried almost every product on the market. I have hair roughly 3 inches long on top and like to have it swept back. Works really well on blowdried hair and provides a strong hold, but not so strong that you couldn't rework it or brush it in to position. Best of all is the smell of the product which is a soft vanilla scent, and it stays with you until you wash your hair, and this isn't one of those products that is hard to wash out. Genuinely really glad I bought this product as its the best I have ever used, and would completely recommend.
