Much better than the films!

I put off reading this due to knowing the general plot from watching one of the many films years ago, glad I finally read it. Has some great scenes in it and at times darker than I expected. A classic Sci fi novel, worth reading if you like the genre and haven't read it.

This retold version is easier to read and suitable for students in general. Athought you see some names in Britain, the map in the book will help you appreciate the unnatural situation brought by the great machines from Mars.
