The setup was quick and straightforward, connecting to my Wi-Fi without any of the syncing issues I have experienced with other brands. We have a heater that we put in our bird bath in the winter to keep it from freezing. It is plugged in an outdoor electrical socket and we need to unplug it when the temperature gets above freezing. This smart power plug allows us to power the heater on and off, from anywhere. We could be in another state and control this outlet. This device has two outlets, with each being able to be controlled separately, so we have room for expansion if we have a second device to power on/off. I really like that this device also has a switch on it so you can power the outlet on or off manually if you are nearby and aren't carrying your phone. The remote software easily installs on your phone and setup of the device is very straightforward. I also like that each outlet has a green led so you can see visibly if the outlet is on or off. I also like that this device is weather resistant, although I have mine in a somewhat protected area. I don't know that i would want this someplace it could get rained on with only IP64 weather resistance. That means it is protected from "splashes" of water only. I am very happy with this device!

Setup was a little odd, the Tapo app wouldn’t add it at first, so I used the older Kasa app to pair it. Once connected, it synced into Tapo automatically and has worked perfectly since. I deleted the Kasa app afterward and haven’t needed it again. It fits inside a small waterproof outdoor box with no issues, and scheduling has been completely reliable. No disconnects, no missed automations. If you’ve had outdoor plugs that constantly drop connection, this is a big improvement.

The Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug has been a great addition to my smart‑home setup. These have been working great since I installed & connected them. They have a really long connectivity reach on 2.5GHz wifi. App is great for setup and the scheduling for each plug is easy to setup & convenient. This replaced my low voltage outdoor lights light sensor on my transformer. Now I simply turn the entire unit on & off in the scheduler and I have better control than the light sensor that is a little expensive btw. I use another unit to control my deck lights. Would recommend these where better control/scheduling is needed for outdoor accessories. But please check & make sure you don't exceed the supported power output for safety and try to connect them to a GFCI for gound fault safety. They are IP64 rated for moisture & dust and they worked great during the last winters extreme cold.

I've bought lots of the Kasa products over the years and these outdoor plugs work great. They work well with Alexa, though I usually just schedule them based on the sunset and sunrise. Setup is easy with the Kasa app. I use them for landscape lighting in the backyard and ended up putting it inside a weatherproof box just for added protection.

Ya he comprado previamente algunos productos Kasa, focos solamente y son una excelente opción, en esta ocasión necesitaba un smartplug para exteriores y me decidí por este, realmente creo que es una opción bastante accesible, la calidad de materiales es buena, su construcción se ve robusta, si creo la presunción de que sea para exteriores. Además la configuración fue extremadamente sencilla, no es necesario ningún hub, ya que basta abrir la aplicación y en pocos minutos está listo. Sin lugar a dudas una buena opción para exteriores.
