I bought this as a cheap, simple solution to my "I can't grill outside because it's too dark" problem. I wasn't expecting much, considering what I paid. So far though, this clamping light has been great. The lamp sits clamped to the fence in our back yard, and has gone through 2 rounds of heavy rain. It still works perfectly. It's light, but durable, and the clamp is seriously sturdy. It latches on tightly, and isn't affected by the wind. Because it's so light, and because the clamp is so tight, I can move the light around easily. I can hold it with one hand while I work, or just clamp it on to the wood portion of my grill for a more closeup lighting source. I placed a 100W "daylight" bulb in it, which provides more than enough light for my purposes. It's a great little lamp.

Works great

This light is very basic...tight sturdy clamp, long cord and on and off switch....nothing extra i.e. timers, bulbs, etc. I wasn't looking for anything but this...a basic clamping light to use for my "budding" plants over the fall and winter months. So far so good. Its alot easier than panel lights and was very cost effective leaving me to spend more on light bulbs and other gardening necessities. I plan to order 2 more to clip on beds for reading lamps. They don't get hot with these special purple LED bulbs in so I hope the same is true with just a regular bulb. I recommend these to anyone looking to keep their plants in good growing condition when indoors.

Cheap lamp housing for standard light bulbs. Does its job well. Not extra frills or whistles, but that’s what I wanted. The on/off switch is at the base of the lamp, feels durable.

Very simple, very cheap. Cheaper than my local hardware store, but the build quality is also lower. For my use case, though these work very well and don't need to be durable. I took 4 of these and attached them to the rafters in my partially finished garage. Add 4 cheap LED bulbs (Cree on Amazon, 2x warm, 2x cool) and you have a very nice quality of light for under $50. No new electrical. No fancy fixtures. They move very well so I can put light where I need it. A word of warning though, these are soft. They will get dinged up very easily so I would be careful or get a sturdier brand if you need durability.

This clamp lamp works great. Now, it is not a real heavy duty like the ones I bought at a supply store many years ago. It is thin aluminum and has a lightweight build. But it functions well. I actually kind of like like that it is a lighter weight metal because when these type of lamps get too top heavy it is hard to keep them angled right. The light bulbs I use are already pretty heavy so I think that having less weight to add on top of that is a good thing. Of course you need to be more careful with it because it will get dings more easily than a heavyweight metal lamp would. I am using it in a pop-up greenhouse and I never really have to move it around or anything so that's not really an issue for me. Someone working in a garage or shop might want a heavier-duty one but this works perfectly for me. If I find that I need more in the future I will happily order this brand.

I ordered this product originally a few years ago when I needed lighting for a miniature greenhouse, since then I've made multiple purchases because this thing is so great! This clamp lamp isn't much different from the other options out there, I can't say there's any feature that really is done better or stands out. What I can say is that this thing is well built, the first one I purchased survived multiple drops, sub-zero temperatures, above-average heat, and high humidity. No issues with the switch, the fixture, the clamp, or the cord. The reflector has a small dent but that was my fault - I would recommend being careful if you plan on throwing bricks near this lamp. The product is well built and feels sturdy, it uses a standard push stick style switch built into the socket housing. The clamp is coated in a rubberized sleeve and has a good amount of grip but it will struggle on slippery surfaces which are narrow or provide little to grip on to. You can get creative and wrap the clamp around or play with the position and it will attach to mostly anything. I've used it with a wide range of bulbs with no problems: low wattage LED (13W), high wattage large LED (50W+), CFL (9-50W). The largest bulb I used was 18x21cm LED bulb with a tapered base but the reflector ended up redundant due to the design of the bulb. Luckily it's easy to remove the reflector or the clamp, or both if you need to. All that aside, the main selling point here is the price! The closest competing product I've found is nearly twice the price and even more in local shops. For a UL certified product, this is a steal.

This was my second order of these lamps - they are useful in so many places. This batch is to hold grow-lights to start spring seeds. Others go in the workshop for task lighting wherever needed. One did come with a slightly "squeezed" reflector - I'm sure that it left the Amazon warehouse in good shape but they packed it in a box along with another much heavier item and no protection. Anyway, that which is easily bent into an oval is also easily bent back to a circle, and the light does its job well. The cord/plug/socket/switch etc. are all great quality, even if the reflector is a bit flimsy.

Needed a lamp to go with the grow light I have and it works great. I love how the metal looks like it came with the metal Ikea shelf I bought for my plants! Easy to clamp where needed and is lightweight yet sturdy. If I need another grow lamp I'll repurchase this one for sure.

I went to local stores to buy this first - they were 2.5 times the price as this product. I thought, no way, I'm not paying 2.5 times as much, and ordered from Amazon and hoped for the best. I thought, they must be lower quality, as that price difference is quite a lot. When I opened the box from Amazon. I was very happy. Same quality as the local stores, and I got 2 for less that what I would have paid for one locally!! Both work well, and they have nice strong clips. I fully recommend this item.

Have it working now for a few days as a terrarium basking heat & light source with 50W halogen spot. The base is PLASTIC not ceramic like more expensive pet store lamps but seems to be ok with the 60-70oC temps generated at the socket. I would not use a heat lamp though....would get 5 stars if it had a ceramic base...plastic just makes me nervous.
