This Jewellweed salve is amazing! I am severely allergic to poison ivy/oak/sumac and it goes from zero to one thousand on me and spreads like wildfire quickly. I had a breakout and applied this salve several times a day and within 12 hours had already noticed a change and within 48 hours it was drying up! I have spent hundreds of dollars over years trying to find an OTC solution for poison ivy and this is the first salve that has ever done anything. Highly recommend!!

I got this for my husband, he works outdoors and is constantly coming in contact with poison ivy, affecting mostly his hands. He has tried most creams and ointments for itch and irritation with little relief. However, with this product he has noticed his skin feels smoother, and the areas affected by poison ivy are healing quicker and much better than when he has used other products. It also provides quick itch relief and soothes irritation. He definitely loves it and even shares it at work. Will be getting it again!

UPDATE: I purchased this product Sept 21, 2019 and was pleased with the results as indicated in the original 5 star review below. Unfortunately, the product was completely ineffective when I applied it during the spring. I was bitten in early May, 2020 and was disappointed when the salve failed to achieve the miraculous results it had 7 1/2 months earlier. I tried it again on new bites a week or so later and again, no relief. Note that I stored the jar with my other medicines in a climate controlled environment. I had hoped this product would at least last a year, but it appears it may only be good for a single season and possibly less, as I don’t know when the product lost its juju after my last use during the early fall. Accordingly, I am dropping a star off to reflect the product’s short shelf life. I also amend my remark to Creation Farms about the formula. i think they need to test out preservative options or reduce the jar size and price, while also providing expiration notices, including affixing expiration dates on jars for each lot. ( I meant to write this update earlier and just remembered as I was moving my Deet to a different shelf.) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I live in Minnesota where the mosquito is considered the state bird. This past year I began getting more severe allergic reactions to mosquito bites. I tried calamine, cortisone, alcohol and various brands like Technu Calagel and none abated the itching. After hearing me whine about my predicament, a friend introduced me to some jewel leaf plants growing on his property. I had fun watching the plants react to my touch by ejecting little pods, but didn’t have an active bite at the time to determine it’s effectiveness. I decided to buy a lotion and settled on Creation Farms because it was made in the US with a variety of other beneficial natural ingredients. Got a couple bites on my forehead this morning. I washed the bite area and put on the salve and much to my relief, the itching stopped! A couple hours later and still no itching! Don’t know how well it works with poison ivy, but this product definitely stops mosquito bite itching. Kudos to Creation Farms. You have won a lifetime customer. (Please don’t change a thing about your formula. It works as is.)

Great product for when the rash is at that awkward drying up phase. Keeps the skin moist, helps avoid cracking and helps cut down on flaking skin. Seems too occlusive to use before that.

This is a great natural alternative to store bought poison ivy treatments. I love that this is all natural and it really stops the itching. The only down side is that is does not dry and is very oily therefore; it easily gets on sheets and clothes. I found that putting on the salve and wrapping the body part in gauze works best to continue with your life without fear of it rubbing off on something. You get a good amount for the price, a little goes a long way during application. The shelf life is about two years which is great!

I'm skeptical about how much jewelweed this actually contains. From what I can tell its largely olive oil and a few other things, which causes it to stay quite oily. Fragrance is weak, and the effects are hard to notice. It might help under your clothes or PJs, simply by virtue of keeping the rash moist and healing.

Worth the purchase. Great product to have on hand for humans and pets. Used on my dog that had skin problems and help clear it up. Great on irritated skin from itchy to burning.
