Hi.. I didn't use a UV light, but after you mentioned it, I know I have heard that before. But it didn't say to, and I didn't use it.I did let it sit for 2 days, checked it, and it worked. The nozzle was difficult for me, but I trimmed it with a pair of clippers, at an angle. Worked well. Make sure you wipe it off before putting the top back on.God luck
