I purchased this rod to replace one of my telescopic rod. I have three other multipiece rods but decided to stick with these kind of rods. The rod looks really good and stands out when fishing among your buddies. 1. The First time Using this Rod during Heavy rain, thunder and lightning The first time I use this rod was in raining conditions with thunder and lightning. This particular day my wife and I heard sounds of electrical sparks coming from the rod. We touch the gold plated parts on the rod and notice that there was a small surge of electricity running through the rod. 2. Knots on thick 0.6mm and 0.8mm lines The ring on the tip of the rod needs to be a little wider. This is to facilitate knots on two joined lines with a diameter around 0.6mm to 0.8mm. When casting, the knot would hit the tip's ring and reduce the casting force/distance. This happens occasionally but I thought I should mention this for people who're using thick lines. 4. The Gold Plated Rings - One of the Gold Plated ring wasn't pasted on but I managed to glued it to its position. I read someone had the same problem from their review of the product. 3. Comfortability and Weight. The rod is very strong, comfortable and light. This helps with casting farther out from the seashore. The rod can easily land a 6lb fish. I haven't caught a fish greater than 6lb with this rod as yet. I will update you if I do. Thanks

I bought the 3.3 meter (10.91ft) for surf fishing at NC outer banks. A ambassador 6500c reel mounts on rod loose, can be corrected with little strip of 3\8" wide zip tie against bottom of reel seat. Not a "Hatteras Heaver" by any means with such a low lure weight. Actually got hooked up with a large sting ray by using #8 circle hook, no need to jerk back to set hook. Rod performed well under these circumstances. Do like the compactness of this rod for travel. I would and did buy another, also bought the 3 meter (9.8 ft) to take next time. Don't use abrasive line as the line guides are not ceramic lined and over time would machine wear right through the stainless steel. All in all, I like them.

I am using this for fishing in Maui. It broke on the sixth day during a snag the whole front of the rod went into the water. I do not recommend this product. I have another pole from this company that also broke at the middle. it snapped during a cast of a lure. I have a third pole as well that has held up so far. Update: after leaving my review I was contacted by the company and they sent a replacement rod. I bumped my one star to a four star for the company standing behind their products.
