Great
Another great story from this author-engaging illustrations and text, tackling a difficult issue in a child-appropriate yet non-patronising way. Has been read numerous times. Recommend

A wonderful Graphix story.
𝔾ℍ𝕆𝕊𝕋𝕊By Raina TelgemeierA graphix novel aimed at Middle school age children. The illustrations and comic like format is beautifully executed. The images are clear and bold and assist the story well when language is not needed.Follow Catrina and her family as they move to the Coast of North California to help younger sister Maya who is very sick with cystic fibrosis and needs the cooler climate to help her.As they explore their new home and neighbourhood they soon realise that there are ghosts in Bahia de la Luna.Maya is desperate to meet one but Cat must learn to overcome her fears for the sake of her sister especially as the day of the dead fast approaches.💀Fun👻Family unit💀Finding Friends👻Overcoming Fears💀Ghosts👻Brilliant Graphics⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!🤓My daughter loved this one too! ❤️

Gorgeous story - love this!
This is a lush story! Cat and her family move somewhere new to help her little sister’s health and when she gets there, all they talk about is ghosts. Cat is terrified, but with the help of the people around her she warms to the idea. Loved the colour and life in this! I really appreciated the talk and representation of Maya’s illness in this too.

Raina's Best book yet!
Raina is back on top form with her latest offering, 'Ghosts', a wonderful warm and engaging tale about Sisterhood and illness. The illustrations are stunning as usual. I got into Raina's books Initially through my daughter, We love to read these together and this in my opinion is the best one yet. I loved her previous books but wasn't too keen on 'Drama', although my daughter loved it and she is the intended age group. This story is about a girl called Cat who is upset when she has to leave her hometown in Southern California and move up to 'Bahia de la Luna' a misty mysterious town in Northern California where the sun only shines 62 days a year. The move is for the benefit of her younger sister Maya who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Their parents believe the seaside air will be beneficial for her health. Despite her love for her sister, Cat being a young teenager resents being uprooted from her former life and is spooked by the new town and with good reason, there is a portal to the spirit world and the accommodating misty weather provides the perfect cover for the ghosts to hang around. It's not all doom and gloom though, this is a happy feel good book where we learn that ghosts don't have to be scary.

Beautifully done!
This one hit me right in the heart, it hits so many different big hard topics that really need more voices. A realistic portrayal of cystic fibrosis and amazing look at dia dos muertos. Family and friends are important which is amazing.
