Compact, good for travel, and well-designed
The tripod comes in a carrying case with a velvet bag around the ball head, fully assembled in the tripod configuration. Inside the carrying bag is a hex key (which fits into the screws on the legs and ball head), instructions for converting the tripod to a monopod, and an adapter screw for turning the tripod into a monopod. The tripod is very well-designed and folds up wonderfully for travel. Even with the included carrying case, it can fit comfortably in a carry-on sized suitcase or backpack. It is light enough to carry comfortably, but not so light that I would be worried about vibration problems, especially since there is a convenient and easily accessible hook for hanging weights. The legs feel very sturdy and can independently lock in different positions, which is great for uneven surfaces. It is also possible to shoot straight down with the ball head. The black carbon fiber finish is very professional-looking, and doesn't get too hot or cold easily the way aluminum and other metals would, which is good for when you're shooting in very hot or cold environments. As a side note though, the bubble level is part of the attachment point for the camera. This means that it only tells you if the camera itself is level, not if the entire tripod is level. While this is fine for my own purposes, some of you might find this problematic because it means that (side to side) panning might not be on a horizontal level if the entire tripod is tilted. Also, there are *not* any spiked feet included or built into this tripod. That's okay with me, but if that is a must-have for you, you might want to either buy spiked feet separately to screw in, or look at a different tripod. The feet are removable though, so I'd say just buy the spikes separately. The monopod feature was a little confusing at first, especially since the instructions aren't the greatest, but I figured it out. For those of you having trouble with the monopod: - The leg with the logo on it unscrews from the tripod. - To remove the main shaft (the one with the ball head on it), unscrew the hook from the shaft, loosen the main shaft height adjustment until the shaft slides freely, and then slide out the main shaft. - There is a small adapter screw included with the kit. You might have to dig around in the bag to find it. (This is where I got confused - I didn't know the adapter existed at first, and couldn't figure out how to join the main shaft and leg.) - Screw the adapter into the main shaft first. Only one end of the screw will fit, so you'll know which side is right. Screw it all the way in. - Now screw the shaft + adapter piece into the leg you unscrewed earlier. - Celebrate by taking some awesome photos! I have included pictures of everything I mentioned in this review so you can see what I'm talking about. (They were taken with my phone, not my nice camera. Sorry!) Overall, this is an excellent tripod which serves my needs well. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a semi-professional, but still travel-friendly and easily portable tripod. I feel comfortable trusting this tripod with my expensive equipment at any angle or configuration, as it is solidly constructed and very stable. I hope this review was helpful to you.

Glad I bought it
I was looking for a new tripod to travel with and searched the internet, comparing dozens of models and styles, and stumbled upon this one. I bought it here on Amazon and have been using it now for a few months. Here's my review of it: PROS: The height. This measures in a lot higher than most other portable tripods (it's definitely tall enough to use as a main tripod). The cost. It's not much more than a cheap tripod, but less than half the price of a similar travel tripod from another company. The build. It feels solid, and is made of metal. It doesn't feel like it's going to break. The weight. It's nice and light-weight, but that doesn't mean it'll fall over. It has a hook you can attach weights on to give it some extra weight. I usually hang my backpack with some gear in it to hold it down, and it feels very sturdy. I could imagine carrying this tripod around all day and not worrying about its weight. Its support. It can hold my DSLR without a problem, and I'd feel comfortable putting more weight on it. Portability. It folds up quite small. Not as small as other models, but not too long. I can put it in the side of my backpack, or just sling it over my shoulder. If it were a few inches smaller, it would likely cost twice as much or more, so I can live with that. The ball head. I know this might be a con for some people, but I actually like the small ball head. It's not easy to use compared to a standard larger fluid head, but it's nice to have something included so I don't have to bring my own. Monopod. I never even use a monopod 99% of the time, but it's really nice that it can also become one without too much work. The main leg twists off easily, and you can attach the head directly to it to become a monopod. This would allow you to film from higher up as well. Personally I probably won't use the monopod except for a few specific times when filming B roll but it's a plus. Spikes. It actually has retractable leg spikes. This is kind of rare among inexpensive, light-weight, portable tripods. Granted I don't film outside much so I haven't needed spikes, but they could come in handy. CONS: Twist joints. I wish the leg joints snapped instead of twisted. The twisting isn't bad or anything and they feel snug, but snaps really are a bit nicer. The length. I think it's nice and short when folded up, but I wish it were physically possible to be smaller when folded completely up. Anyway, not a problem, just an observation. I needed the tripod's height so I guess I can live without it being able to fit into my pocket or something. I'm asking too much.

Not super light, but still very useful
Replacing my old cheaper Dolica, these are so much more sturdy and stable! They are also as versatile as described. I'm using it to hold up a heavy pastel painting pochade - much more difficult for tripods to handle full pochades for painting than even heavy lens cameras, BTW. If it holds up as I think it will, I'll consider it a great purchase. However, even with carbon fiber legs I wouldn't call it light weight, which is probably due to the extra sturdy metal fittings. Still it does fold up small, folds up well, and does the job. UPDATE: It is very sturdy and works like a charm! I wasn't sure a ball socket would work as well as a pan tilt head, but it works even better.

I found that this was my best option that fit my needs
I'm going on a trip where I need to bring my camera gear and didnt want to bring my bulky heavy Manfrotto 190X tripod. I found this and added it to my cart while I searched around for other options. After searching all of Amazon, B&H, Bestbuy, and other stores, I found that this was my best option that fit my needs. I ordered it a few days later during lunch and it was on my doorstep a few hours later! Crazy fast same day shipping. I was stoked! That is until I opened the package and opened the box. I took the tripod out of the included carrying bag, very nice bag by the way, and one of the tripod legs immediately fell off! All of the legs and joints were loose out of the package. After I tightened the other legs, I attempted to put the other leg back on which slid in freely but would not tighten! The tighening collar wouln't clamp down on the leg at all. I was furious. It took me over and hour, a flashlight, and some reverse engineering and disassembly to realize the inner sleeve of the tightening collar wasnt there. instead it was INSIDE the tube that originally fell out. I had to take apart another leg to see how it fit inside the collar and reinstall it back in the collar that was missing the sleeve. I spent my friday night trying to fix something that I shouldn't have had to fix. Other than that, after everything was put together and in working order I'm impressed with the overall quality of this tripod. A little heavier than I thought but that's a good thing because I don't think it would be sturdy enough if it was any lighter. With this tripod fully extended and legs opened up to first notch, it seemed a little too unstable for my taste with my Canon 7D and 135mm lens on there. I even hung my loaded camera bag on the hook for added stability and it still seemed like it would tip over easily. I opened up the legs to the second notch and stability improved 10 fold, however the overall footprint of the tripod also increased by a lot. That wouldn't be a problem if you're shooting out in the field where no one is around, but I wouldn't open it up that much with foot traffic in the area. The maximum height is surprisingly high considering it collapses down to ~13." The ballhead that came with this tripod is very impressive. So much that I actually prefer it over my Manfrotto 496RC2 Ballhead! The panning feature is so smooth even opened up all the way and the ballhead locking mechanism is more solid than my Manfrotto. Theres absolutely no slop when tightening it down with my 7D at crazy angles like I have with my 496RC2. The Arca Swiss quick release plate isn't as fast as the manfrotto and will have to get used to that as well as the twist locking collars on the legs compared to the latches on Manfrotto. Overall, I'm happy I went with this tripod and so happy with it I might actually sell my Manfrotto 190X and get another ZOMEI that's equal to the size and stability of the 190X. It would've gotten 5 stars if I didn't have to deal with fixing it before getting it to work properly. Don't sleep on this brand. For the price point, it can't be beat

Glued fittings came apart
This is a not so light graphite tripod. I mean it is fine as far as weight goes but really not as light as I would have expected. But that is not the problem with this tripod. The problem is, its graphite and so all the connecting joints and fasteners, etc. are "glued". And the glued joints came apart under normal use. Totally rediculous. Do not buy this in my opinion.

Best carbon fiber tripod around 120 bucks
I am so glad I bought this!!! I travel all over the world and I have been using an aluminum tripod for ease of use and something lightweight. I could not afford a carbon fiber tripod at that time. I wanted to improve my gear with something lighter yet more stable and could offer the flexibility of a tripod should I need it so I started a search here on Amazon.I found this ZOMEI Z699C Carbon Fiber Portable Tripod. It had tons of 5 star reviews and the consensus was that most people were very happy with the product so I bought one. I am extremely impressed with the operation, look, feel, finish, attention to detail and flexibility of this tripod. The head pans extremely smooth for video. This is a GREAT tripod for HANDICAMS and even something a bit larger, . The specifications state it will handle a payload up to 33LB (15KG). The specifications also state that it goes up to 60 inches. With it in the case and all parts the total weight is about 4 pounds. It is great to be able to have 3 legs of stability on the ground at less weight and no longer have to carry a small water bag to put on the feet of the monopod to stabilize it. This is a definite MUST HAVE for the photographer on the go that wants to pack light and small.

Light weight, portable, steady tripod! Particularly reccomended for outdoor shoots!
Light weight and secure carbon fiber tripod that I will be using for outdoor shoots! I am a professional photographer and DP and shoot both indoors and outdoors. I often rotate equitpment for the shoots and hence do have quite a number of tripod to use. I would use this for outdoor shoots and for travel assignments. This is great for indoor shoots as well if you are looking for something light weight. What I like most: -Easy to carry and portable -Stable and secure -Quick release -Versitile -Legs have spikes (good for outdoor shoots) -Carbon fiber (does not rust) -Durable -Can handle relatively heavy equiptment considering its light weight I was initially hesitant as I have not bought anything from this brand before but the price point was all right so I decided to give it a try and am definitely impressed! I can see myself using this for outdoor shoots, travel assignemnts, and also on shoots where I have to move around a lot as this tripod is incredibly light!

Compact and Sturdy Tripod!
I've been using a regular tripod with my DSLR for a while now and I've been struggling with how the slightest wind would move the entire tripod, which made long exposure shots impossible with it. Also, I use telezoom lenses which are kinda heavy, so I decided to look for a new tripod and came across this ZOMEI carbon fiber tripod. I'm very happy with how good this turned out to be. The tripod is very sturdy and heavy, just enough, to handle a DSLR with telezoom lens to help me get these long exposure shots without any movements. The tripod is very compact to take in a backpack when traveling/hiking as well and it's made of carbon fiber so it doesn't get any better. I do wish that it had snap joints instead of twist ones, but definitely not a deal-breaker given the price and quality.

If you want a tripod an be done with them once in for all then get this
I really didn't want to spend this much on a tripod but I'm glad I did. I'm really happy with this it's everything you'll ever want from one. It screams quality an looks everything but cheap. I bought another one like a month before an I wasn't happy with it. I mean it does everything this will kinda but this makes you want to make excuses up just to use it. Don't be a me an spend another 70 to end up buying this anyways. If your reading this like I read others cuz it's a lot of cash for what it does then read no more buy it once you have it you'll forget the cost an just live with happy thoughts it's the Ferrari of tripods

Product failed and Zomei support unresponsive
I was initially impressed with the tripod, seemingly it was just what I wanted: a good lightweight and compact tripod that would support my large DSLR camera and lenses. However, after only a short period of use one of the legs dropped off and was lost. Writing to the company several times asking for their support elicited no response of any kind.

Well put together.
Seems decent, easy to carry. The twist leg mechanism isn't the best, but it is the same as all other similar types of tripod. Overall works well for a portable tripod, don't expect it to keep heavy lenses steady if you are using film and slow shutter speeds.
