Will it still work fine if you add additional track to make a bigger layout?

That depends on how much track that you install. It will work fine if you install a moderate amount of track. However, as with all train layouts when you add a large amount of track the power starts to drop off through the voltage drop in the joints. The solution is to run additional power wires to the sections of track that are the furthest from the main power source.

Is the sound supposed to work automatically? My sound isn’t working and it’s fresh out the box.

Mine works fine. There is a button on the controller that activates the sound

How long can this product be used?

This Train will run as long as it has power and you keep the track clean and lubricate the train periodically. If you run the train full speed constantly it might shut down until it cools down.
