Hi there,you can use this waterproof fish finder in ice fishing and drop the sonar ball in ice fishing hole.Please note that the sonar ball works with in a 90 degrees beam angle.If the ice layer block the sonar ball to send sound waves into water,then it may get wrong information on this wireless fish finder. So it better to make sure the sonar ball be putted into the water and not affected by ice layer. Hope this helps.
