Lion Brand Yarn, 24/7 Cotton Yarn, Red, 1 Pack

This is 100% (mercerized) 4/medium worsted cotton. It’s intended to have a different texture and is much more durable than conventional cotton yarn without the loss of a nice feel. The feel and look of a higher quality is obvious once you touch a finished piece. Yes, the yarn feels different than standard yarn. It’s supposed to. It’s processed differently for a reason. This particular yarn is perfect for any project that will be used or handled frequently. It is stronger, doesn’t produce heavy lint, doesn’t get fuzzy or pill up, doesn’t split easily, and is more resistant to mildew. It holds its shape better than regular cotton yarn, and withstands many many washes and tumble dries on a medium heat setting. (Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.) I disagree with the reviews that call it “thread” or dk weight. Not true. Yes, there is a dk version of this brand, but it clearly says dk on the front part of the label. The thickness is comparable of an identical piece stitched with standard cotton yarn. The yarn swatches up just as noted on the label: Crochet Gauge (4in x 4in) 14 single crochets x 19 rows using a G-6 (4 mm) crochet hook Knit Gauge (4in x 4in) 20 stitches x 28 rows using #6 (4 mm) knitting needles Photo 1: My current 24/7 yarn stash is from in-store and Amazon purchases over a several month time span. The overall quality and color of yarn is consistent across the board, regardless of where it was purchased from. This stash is ever changing because of the volume of crocheting I do in my spare time. Photo 2: I use a LOT of this yarn to make simple dishcloths/washcloths for charity fundraisers in our local area. They are a hot commodity because of the durability and how they hold their vibrant color for a long time. Definitely better than any store bought dishcloth/washcloth. Honestly, I can’t make them fast enough. If you’re unsure about Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton yarn or if you’re unfamiliar with mercerized cotton, try a skein. Don’t judge the yarn until you’ve finished the project. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. This is my honest opinion from my personal experience with this product. Used to crochet flowers for my friends. Beautiful color, the center is not tangled when you pull the center strand out, but make sure you use a small hook as it is a thinner yarn. Not really suitable for warm projects, more for cutesy things. High quality yarn, good value, make some pretty projects!

I absolutely LOVE this yarn! I practiced crochet with off-brand “Easy Peasy” yarn, so I was nervous about working with “real” yarn. To my pleasant surprise, this yarn was a breeze to work with! The yarn is thinner than I anticipated, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s soft, sturdy, beautiful, and doesn’t split. I strongly recommend it! Pictured is a little bag that I made with this wonderful yarn.

I crochet a lot and 24/7 cotton is my go to yarn. It’s great quality and is good for lots of different projects! Love their color choices also.

This is a pretty good more budget friendly cotton (if you can find it on sale). The colors are very saturated, but I have never had transfer on to my hands. The texture is not particularly soft and can irritate your hands, but it is also quite durable and is not going to break. This yarn has very nice stitch definition. The skein looks very small, but it is packed tight. Overall it works really well for many project as long as you are not looking for the softest yarn. Currently, I am combining it with other yarns to make coasters, the 24/7 gives the project nice structure, while the other yarns work well for the fluffier leafy bits.

I absolutely love this Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton Mercerized yarn in Spruce! I originally bought my first skeins directly from the Lion Brand website and then ordered the rest I needed here on Amazon to finish my project. The color is beautiful in person a rich, clean spruce green that works perfectly for my crochet Daisy granny square blanket I’m making . One thing I really appreciate is that the yarn is easy to work with. It crochets smoothly, doesn’t split easily, and feels sturdy without being stiff. Which is really nice as a beginner. It’s also really good value for money considering the quality and yardage you get in each pack. The yarn is soft for a cotton and holds up really well for things like bags, dishcloths, and wearable items. A heads-up about dye lots: mine from the Lion Brand website and Amazon were different, but luckily I genuinely can’t tell the difference in color. Still, I’d recommend buying a little more than you think you need at once, just to make sure you get matching dye lots if that matters for your project. Overall, this yarn is reliable, beautiful, and beginner-friendly while still being great for experienced crocheters. I’ll definitely be buying it again.

The nicest yarn I ever used

Wife Review Takeover 😉 I'm surprising my husbands cousin with cute house warming gifts. Hand towels, coasters, dishcloths. What I like about this brand is it's versatility. ▫️I can make a multi-piece product and not worry about it being "off in color". With that being said, I purchase yarn in the amount I need for a product/project to avoid issues of that nature. ▫️Being 100% cotton it's Texture is of good quality. It's soft but strong and I can tell it will be perfect for dish cloths. ▫️It is machine washable per the label but I'll probably look up more indepth instructions for care. ▫️I've already started to work it up and it does get softer, it's performance is great as I haven't noticed any knotting so far. Also I usually use 1 or a 1/2 size smaller hook in general than recommended (personal preference). I used a 3.5 mm hook, but it does call for a 4mm. ▫️Overall I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to use it as long as they keep producing the same quality product. ▫️Certain colors are inexpensive. But other colors are priced ridiculously high. If you run into this issue with certain colors like I did - My solution to that was to: 🔸️Take down the brand name 🔸️ Get the name of the color skien 🔸️Put it into the amazon search engine and see if there are any cheaper deals. OR go to a different storefront and look else where. Thankfully I've been able to find the colors I need at $5 or under on this sellers page and on another sellers page. To be clear, I am not suggesting getting the SAME color skien from two different sellers. The yarn could be from two different lots and you might end up with slight color variations. (I paid for 3 silver, 3 dark grey, 3 pack of taupe, 3 Ecru, 3 multi-pink/beige yarns). I'll update this post after the completion of my project. Happy Crocheting to all! -@ThatGirlJams

The cotton is very soft and can use for making a quilt

This cotton yarn is beautiful and comes in all sorts of vibrant colours. It's is very easy to crochet with and is well suited for making all types of market bags. There is no piling after lots of handling. The yarn is not as soft as some other cotton yarns but it depends on what you want to crochet but it is in no way a ' rough . Although this is an ' aran ' weight yarn it does feel a little thinner than other brands but it does remain very suitable for patterns that call for aran / wostered weight cotton. The yarn is strong and doesn't split easily and I have not come across any 'knots،،،" It washes like a dream with no colour loss and the colour doesn't run. I highly recommend this product. It is a little expensive, depending of what you are making but it is really worthwhile

Soft, smooth and doesn't pill or split easily, but is a little expensive for cotton yarn. Also a little thinner than the average worsted-weight yarn.
