If you've never read Valerian and Laureline start here!
The inspiration for the new Valerian and the city of a Thousand Planets motion picture and is by far my favorite of the Valerian and Laureline comics as a stand alone and is appropriate for teens (it does have suggestive content). *Spoiler Alert* It shows how the power of the universe works on money and bribes but in the end the founders of the station kick all of the denizens off as they are too power hungry and corrupted.

'The Grumpy Convertor' rules!
This story appeared in Heavy Metal magazine in 1983,when the publication was in it's prime.Mezires and Christin were at their peak as well.Not to spoil the story,but Laureline takes front and center this time around.With the help of 'The Grumpy Convertor',this becomes my personal favorite 'Valerian' story.Highly recommended!.

Mostly Very Good Laureline and Very Enjoyable
I keep buying copies of this and giving them away. This edition features a new translation, but is still terrific art and story. The movie will be out in July

This is the story that Luc Besson based his movie on and it's worth a look just to see how Besson adapted and added to it. The only bad part is that It doesn't take long to read - no more than an hour even savoring every page.

Great episode full of surprises and excellent humour
Album number 6 is a fabulous story. I was positively surprised, perhaps because after quite average 'Birds of Master' I didn't have too high expectations. This is a hard S-F story with action taking place at the Point Central, huge multicultural space station. In this episode our usual hero Valerian plays supporting role and the main focus is on Laureline who simply can join the pantheon of mightiest S-F heroines. The story is full of surprises with excellent humour and graphic is a first class. Everyone who already loved the adventures of Valerian and Laureline will be happy to see that Cinebook announces two more albums: 'On the False Earths' and 'Heroes of the Equinox planned for 2014.
