What is the diameter of the shaft or size of the hole in the axe head?

I could not find the toy. My grandson, age 9, really liked it. The handle is made of 3 pieces that fit together. It is very flimsy. I think he used another "stick". I would not recommend this item.

how big is the blade? I am thinking of putting it on a wooden pole instead of trying to use the plastic pole it comes with

Blade top tip to bottom tip is 9.5 inches, and 6 inches wide. Pole is 3/4”. Blade looks small to be honest in real life.
