Magically Hear-licious!
It's taken me many months to get around to writing this review, but while my needs for decent earplugs are serious, they're not frequent. However, now that we’re back into drag race season, I can attest to the rather amazing (to me) capabilities of these little earplugs. A little background: as the significant other of a race car driver, I'm around a lot of loud engine noise during the warmer months. LOUD engine noise. As in the first time I, without the benefit of earplugs, heard a top fuel car take off from the starting line I literally doubled over from the shock. Since then I've tried a few different brands but my go-to earplugs have been E-A-Rsofts with a 33dB rating. They're comfortable and inexpensive, but a bit fussy to get in my small ears and they block sound indiscriminately. Sure, the engine noise is muffled, but so is everything else. Wearing those same disposable earplugs to a front-row seat at a rock concert saved me from hours of ringing ears and possibly permanent hearing damage, but all I got from the show was the drum and bass. The guitar was squashed, the vocals almost nonexistent. Well, I finally got the chance to test-drive these Hearheed earplugs through a series of live music performances, and I’m blown away. I had low hopes because when I first put them in, I could still clearly hear people speaking at normal volumes. Uh-oh! Then, as the first band began, the magic happened: *loud* noises are reduced, and somehow at varying levels so that the clarity of sound is maintained. I don’t remotely understand the technology behind these, but I can attest to the fact that it works. I was able to enjoy the entire festival weekend, vocals and all, and often from right up against the stage, without a single minute of ringing ears. I haven’t yet worn them to the racetrack, but a preliminary test while the crew fired up the engine turned out A-OK. Added bonuses: - They fit my small ears easily and comfortably (the silicone material is softer than another brand I tried of a similar style) - The carrying case is handy for keeping them both nearby and free of pocket lint, and I find myself spinning it around my finger like one of those trendy “fidget” gadgets so hey, saved money there - The cord/leash thing is easy to attach and remove - No day-glo foam sticking out of my ears, making me look like an old fuddy-duddy at a concert - I can easily wash them (drag strips are filthy places) instead of going through multiple pairs of earplugs every day Things I have not tried: sleeping in them. These have a hard central core, so I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be comfortable for me, as a side sleeper, to wear overnight. I also haven’t tried them under a helmet or wearing them for more than about an hour at a time.

Decent reusable ear plugs, recommend for light/moderate noise
These fit comfortably in the ear canal and work well to reduce noise (not completely blocking everything). It feels weird to slide these so far into your head, but once there, they stay. Also very easy to keep clean. My roommate keeps the tv on 24/7 but I don't pay utilities so instead of causing a ruckus, these work as a nice compromise. I sleep on my side but unsure if any pressure on them will cause damage, so I've adjusted my sleeping to accommodate them. You can track your heartbeat with these in.

I highly recommend this product for super loud concerts!!
Received these in a timely fashion. I was a bit leery about them working as the concerts I go to are extremely loud in small spaces. The last one I went to before the one on the 9th left me hearing impaired for three days with ringing and muffled sound. Saw Acid Mothers Temple with ST 37 and it was a good test run. It was so loud that I heard perfectly with the plugs in and had just a little ringing almost un-noticable afterwards. I am hearing impaired and wear hearing aids so I have to be careful as I do not need to encourage more hearing loss. YES, I would wholeheartedly recommend these noise reduction ear plugs. They fit well. The ringing I did experience may have been due to the problems I have with my ear canals. So, I say it might be my fault but, I still recomment them and would most certainly buy this product again. The quality is great. Yes, yes, yes!!! I heard the concert and vocals perfectly!!! If they worked at a live concert of ST 37 and indoors in a small room, they will work for anything. I even use them when I listen to the Acid Mothers on headphones. Their music makes my ears ring otherwise. They just work is all!!!

Generally satisfactory product
I wore the ear plugs the day I received them for an outdoors blues concert and they felt good for the most part for that 90 minute period. They reduced the volume of the music to a comfortable level, but not to a level that it couldn't be enjoyed. I had a bit of slight discomfort in the left ear, but with some adjustment it went away. Initially, i tried the plugs without the connecting string, but they were somewhat difficult to remove. With the connecting string, it wasn't a problem.

Not the Best for Sleeping
I read all reviews beforehand by people who were using these to sleep and they were very highly regarded. I have no idea why! I currently use Howard Leight by Honeywell Leight Sleepers Disposable Foam Sleep Earplugs, 10-Pairs (R-01680) earplugs to sleep and these Hearheeds are definitely inferior. I was hoping to get a pair of earplugs that I don't have to throw away every couple of days, but these are not comfortable and do not work. The package came with two sets of earplugs. The first pair is short and have something hard in the end - a filter? The second pair is long and stick out of your ears about half an inch. Neither of these worked for me when sleeping with my ear on the pillow. They are also too hard, and push on your inner ear. I had a difficult time getting them to seal. Once they do seal, the sound protection is okay. It is difficult to then get them to unseal once you want to pull them out - very easy to hurt your ears doing it. These may be very good for protection at loud events or loud jobs, but for sleeping I do not recommend them. Pick up a large box of Leight Sleepers instead if you have a snoring spouse.

Very convenient
Works as advertised. Don't like the hard part that sticks out so you can pull them out of your ear, wish that was flexible, can't sleep on them. But I keep them on my key chain and they have saved me a couple times I needed to block out noise
