Does this thermometer have the option for silent mode? The last thermometer we had woke the baby up during temperature readings. Thanks!

This does not have a silent mode. It makes a high pitched beep that is rather loud. I now wish I had purchased one with a silent option.

Would this work on a dog?

It will not be accurate. With the ear function these thermometers measure the heat radiated off the of the ear drum. Dogs have a vertical ear canal followed by a 90 degree bend (horizontal ear canal) before the eardrum. Because of this anatomy the sensor is almost certain to not get a good view of the eardrum in order to make an accurate reading. There have actually been peer reviewed studies on this. (FYI I'm a vet).

Does it display the temp in Celsuis?

You have the option to choose celsuis or fahrenheit

Can it show the temperature in degree centigrade?

I cannot find my manual and accidently changed to centigrade. How do I change it back?
