Lumberjanes Vol. 4

I love this series. Something nice that you can share with younger kids but interesting enough that adults will love it too. I've subscribed to the ongoing series since reading the first 6 books available on amazon. Various characters that are all fleshed out and different from one another working together. There's also a supernatural element to the story.

This was just as entertaining as the other books. The gang us back together for more summer shenanigans and learning more about the creatures of the forest. Looking forward to continuing this series!

We start off with the girls camping out in the woods when a terrible snow storm hits. Jen, their leader, gets separated from the group while new and bigger creatures start to lurk… Rosie ends up rescuing the girls and they head off to solve the mystery of Jenn’s disappearance. They cross paths with a sketchy character from Rosie’s past and of course battle more mystical creatures. Getting a peak into Rosie and her past had me eating this one up! Also seeing Jenn step up to a challenge was awesome too. Yes, this is another great volume of the Lumberjanes and if you read these you’ll know they always mention strong women in society. The ones mentioned in this volume were all awesome. I hadn’t heard of a lot of them, but good ole google helped me find out more about them and I was fascinated. It’s education and entertaining! As always there are themes of feminism, friendship, and they learned to rely on strength of each individual to help the group - you know that thing called teamwork ;) I was left wondering though… what the heck is happening with Jo?

My 11yr old loves these books and reads them in a flash. They are more like a comic book series but still are fun for her because they are about a group of girls that are in a scout group and earn their badges through their adventures.

This one was the most action packed issue compared to the first 3. There's explosions, monsters, extreme taxidermy, all the fun stuff that the series throws on the table. The monsters in this issue are probably the coolest in terms of design. I still can't get over how there's that nice balance between the story and character depth. While the story itself is fun an exciting, you finish the book thinking about the characters. The ending makes the series even more interesting, but that's for you to experience yourself.

This book is so interesting, I love it! It has a good story, amazing characters, and made me ask questions, and laugh!

I really enjoy this series. It’s cute, if predictable, but the supernatural element is always fun. I also like the artwork. If you’re in the mood for a quick read with a great cast of characters, try this series!

Loved this volume the most loved the addition of winter and the flash backs of Nellie and the lumberjanes .

This volume the art style has returned to that seen in the first two volumes which I much prefer. Story this time was fantastic, both answering and creating more questions. Super excited for the next volume

My 6 year old loves these books and we read a chapter a night for bedtime stories. She loves the characters and goes back to read them on her own after!
