So many uses!
This product has so many more uses than you realize! We use this primarily on sunburnt skin (even the barely pink stuff). After a day by the pool our kids always have some spot that didn’t get sunscreen applied well. We spray on some Solarcaine and they don’t complain and the pink is gone in the morning. They never peel or whine about tight or itchy skin. We’ve also used Solarcaine on rug burns and bug bites. It goes on feeling rather cold, but it sprays easily and is NOT thick. It is tacky for a few minutes as it hydrates the skin then dries to the touch. My kids will even help spray me when I get too much sun as they get a giggle out of spraying my warm skin with the cold spray. We recommend having a can of this on hand all the time, but especially if you’ll be spending time in the sun!

Helps numb cuts and scrapes
I use this as an anesthetic for wound care when especially when children get scrapes or cuts that need to have debris removed. I just spray it before I clean it, wait a few minutes and it makes removing bits of dirt or gravel much less painful. Currently I am using it on my German Shepherd who got bit by a rattlesnake on her paw and if the dressing has stuck a little, I will spray it under the edge of the dressing so that it hurts less to pull it off. I learned this trick from a plastic surgeon who I worked for who would apply Lidocaine topically to facial wounds on children that needed to be sutured. We would apply Lidocaine to the wound before we cleaned it and he could inject some before suturing and the children could remain awake during the procedure. It worked well on wounds that needed suturing so I used the same principle to home care.

Grumpy (sunburnt) teenage boy approved!
After a stubborn teenager refused to put sunscreen on, I immediately ordered the Solarcaine spray in anticipation of the whining to come. Before it arrived, we tried an after sun spray, an aloe gel and ibuprofen for pain relief and to hopefully help him to get some rest. Other than the ibuprofen, he felt no better until this glorious can showed up. Within literally a minute or spraying him down the first time, he was asleep on the couch. He actually said "Ah, that feels so much better". I tried it after spending an hour in the sun and it even got rid of that little tingle you get on your skin after being in the sun, before the burn sets in. The lidocaine helps so much! This will be a must-have product from now on - it is by far the absolute best we have ever used.

Must have for fair skin
I have been using this since childhood and my boys used it as well. Really cools the sunburn quickly. Not sticky at all. The smell isn’t bad. Dries quickly. Great value to take the burn out.

works well
It can be difficult to find this kind of product that still contains Lidocaine. This one does! It's not going to completely take away pain, but it does help. But make sure you follow directions. Because it does contain Lidocaine, you can't just put on as much as you want. Lido is also a cardiac med, so overloading on it can be dangerous. Just follow directions and you will get some relief!
