The Velocity Mindset®: How Leaders Eliminate Resistance, Gain Buy-in, and Achieve Better Results―Faster Review: Direction - This book answers the question of why stuff never gets done! Opens your mind up to thinking differently and working to a goal or destination NOT just to check boxes. Review: Far more than a book on selling - it's also a personal achievement book for leaders. - I am a big fan of Ron Karr's other book Lead, Sell, or Get Out of the Way: The 7 Traits of Great Sellers so I was excited to discover that he had a new book coming out on leadership - The Velocity Mindset: How Leaders Eliminate Resistance, Gain Buy-in, and Achieve Better Results―Faster. And if you haven't heard Ron speak, I can tell you that he writes like he speaks which is to say that you're going to get both science and true-life experiences in every chapter. Ron comes from the school of hard knocks and it shows in both his speaking and writing. The Velocity Mindset is far more than a book on selling - it's also a personal achievement book for leaders. He outlines the barriers that typically hold us back as leaders and then goes on to offer very insightful solutions and experiences to overcome these challenges. The Velocity Mindset is broken down into three parts: 1. Finding the Right Mindset 2. Creating Our Destiny 3. Achieving Alignment Finding the Right Mindset In part one Karr tackles limiting thoughts and what is means to become a great leader. The chapter on the psychology of influence is worth the price of the book alone. Here we learn how to authentically influence others, how to use failure as a springboard to success and the importance of focus for both leaders and those they lead. Creating Our Destiny In part two we learn how to steps back, see the world from 10,000 feet and how to plan without having all the immediate answers. Here Ron offers outstanding insight on how to operate with a trajectory in an environment of uncertainty. This section continues on to examine the task versus purpose and once again, this chapter alone is worth the price of the book. There is tremendous insight here on how to rise above the day-to-day in a way that propels you and your teams forward. If you own or manage a business, you will enjoy the insights on how to work ON your business and not just IN the business and how to tie that in with why you're doing it in the first place. There is tremendous perspective here. Achieving Alignment In part three Ron addresses the area that is easily the highest-leverage and most-neglected sales and that is leveraging management to help achieve success. And the advice here is good for all managers - not just sales managers. We discover not just how to leverage ourselves but also how to leverage each other to create unstoppable business momentum. We learn exactly how to execute our velocity strategy, how to communicate with authenticity and how to align teams and get everyone pulling in the same direction. It's not just what you are doing but also who you are collaborating with in your organization. Conclusion I loved this book. It's practical while at the same time revealing the importance of authenticity and leadership in creating velocity. I'm fond of saying that being a better person will make you a better salesperson. Well, the same thing holds true for sales leaders and The Velocity Mindset teach you how to do both. Every business leader should study this book because it explains so well how to achieve velocity for your business, how to be a positive influence for good for your teams and also balancing your personal and professional goals. So, for me, it's two thumbs up. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic book on how to get to the desired outcome
This is a great book on how to take a step back, visualize the desired outcome and move forward. A great follow on to Lead Sell or Get Out of the Way.

Outstanding Book on Professional/Personal Leadership & Relationship Building
Looking for Leadership? For most, 2020 was a year of disruption and continuous challenge both professionally and personally. I was looking for the right resource to better understand how to approach these obstacles, motivate my teams, my customers and … quite frankly… myself. By chance or fluke, I heard a radio interview featuring Ron Karr just outside NYC. I ordered his book (The Velocity Mindset) and read it from cover to cover in a week. The Velocity Mindset is must for all business levels, coaches, teachers, and parent looking to address both complex and common problems we face today. Ron’s book shows you the concepts needed for taking action while maintaining alignment (focus) on the goals we all set for ourselves. Leadership is more critical than ever and an essential component of our overall success. Ron’s approach maybe the best I have seen in my professional experience over the last 30 years.

Much More Than a Sales Book!
This book is more than a sales book, it's a business book and also a life book. The strategies shared in the book come to life with the personal stories the author shares. To me, this makes the more far more impactful and sets it apart from other books that come across as being heavy on theory. It's clear in reading the book each strategy shard work, in particular i found very useful the chapters on failure and focus. These gave me new ideas. if you're in sales buy it, if you're in business buy it.... in both cases it will help you become a better leader by becoming a better person.

One of the best business books I've read in years!
I'm kind of a business book junkie. Most are ok, but not necessarily memorable. So it's a real treat when a book like "The Velocity Mindset" comes along! I loved this book! This was a great book for looking at business and sales and leadership in ways you likely haven't done before. It's not a very long book--but Ron Karr has done a masterful job in giving incredible value and ideas on every page. Less is definitely more in this case! His concept of the Velocity Mindset is one that I will continue to reference for a long time.

Everyone can be a leader - here's how
So many leadership books speak only to the CEO, president or owner while ignoring other key leaders within an organization, i.e. salespeople leading customers to a solution or employees leading their teammates through a challenge. With The Velocity Mindset, you'll see where you can lead and, mostly importantly, how to lead. You'll do the important personal work to remove the barriers that have held you back and learn how to gain alignment with everyone you work with. Karr gives you a blueprint from creating the vision to turning it into reality.

I expected a leadership book like all leadership books—— the abc’s of leadership. This book went in a different, refreshing and surprising direction and it was more affective- it examines what holds us back as leaders in our personal lives. Book went where I did not expect but it was one of the most powerful books I read on the subject for a long time. It's all about being purpose focused rather than merely task focused.
