Clear, Happy Water!
Our pond is 100 feet across and sixteen feet deep. We have a windmill that provides aeration which helps but we have been battling filamentous algae ever since we built the pond in 2008. Usually we have to remove the green, slimy mess using back breaking labor, raking and even going out in a row boat and physically scooping it up with a pitchfork! After doing a bit of research we decided to try the Cutrine Plus this year(2013) I used a three gallon sprayer with the one gallon of Cutrine and two gallons of water. I don't know if it helped but I applied the Cutrine directly to the algae blooms, the sprayer could shoot about fifteen feet. In TWO days we checked the progress and 98% of the alge was gone! We have the pond stocked with blue gill and bass so had some concerns over toxicity but it has been three weeks since the application and I have seen no evidence of dead fish, in fact there are schools of minnows by the hundreds so I figure if the little fry are surviving things must be OK. The money spent on the Cutrine about equals what I spent for the Motrin I needed after last year's battle... I bought two gallons so I'm ready for next year's application! Live better through Chemistry! [EDIT] CHECK your concentration! The first two jugs I bought from another vendor were a 9% solution. The two I recently purchased through Amazon turned out to be a 27% copper solution! The data above says 9%. Were these sent in error? Of course at 27% I'll be using 2/3 less.

Worked great for spring pool prep.
Filled my pool from the well this month. The water was brown. Couldn't even see the 2nd step of the pool. The 2nd day the brown became a green. Put two cups of Cutrine Plus in the deep end. Two days later it went back to brown. It took 5 days of cleaning the filter 2x a day but the pool was crystal clear day 6. No algae in the (new) filter. As ppl who do their own pools know algae in the filter drastically reduces the filter's efficiency reducing the time between necessary cleanings. Algae in the filter was my biggest concern. I let the pool go for another week with high chlorine and algaecide levels to clean the tannin stains and scum lines accumulated during the winter when it was drained. The levels of chlorine and algaecide reduced over time and filter cleanings. I declared it ready and the Ex came over and collected a bottle of pool water to have it tested. It tested 'perfect' at the local pool supply store and she was complimented on how clean the water was. IMO this is good stuff for spring pool startup. Since it's not specified for swimming pools I'm sticking with In the Swim's pool algaecide during swimming season. They're both copper-based but....

Pond weed management.
We use this to our 3/4 acre pond and it works well. The price was good. No issues and delivery was fast. I recommend this product.

Good Product, Cost Effective for Larger Bodies of Watet
Good for algae in stock tanks. Effective and versatile for both floating and submerged algae. Takes some trial and error to get the proper mixture for your individual needs. Mixing instructions are overly complex and somewhat difficult to interpret. I felt as if the instructions and mixing guides were written to protect the manufacturer from liability rather than to actually help the consumer. I use Cutrine alone or in combination with diquat depending on the problem which has arisen. Once you get your mixture right Cutrine is an effective, economical treatment. Does not kill Duckweed or Azolla.
